Watching Horns. Good blend of humor and horror, though it does get very dark at times. Very, very dark from what I'm seeing now. Definitely one of the more original films I've seen in a long while. Daniel Radcliff has come a long way since his Harry Potter days.

Edit: Aaaand.... now I'm bawling my eyes out. The letter.

Edit 2: OK... this is a freakin rollercoaster!

I had never even heard of this movie, but I watched the trailer. I would definitely be interested in seeing that.

There is nudity and strong language so keep the kids and Andy away from it. I really enjoyed it and will definitely Netflix the DVD when it becomes available. IMDB shows an October 3rd release date but I don't see any listings in the theaters around here. I wonder if it getting loose on the internet has anything to do with the delayed release?

Is that a chick flick? Cuz this is definitely not a chick flick. Little Harry Potter was bad ạss.

Well, our youngest is 17 now, so I guess we are all legal to see nudity and strong language. Thanks for the heads-up, though. I still might like to screen it first, see how bad it gets.

As for the Father Knows Best plot--it sounds like, in a way, it was sort of feminist, since the daughter was wanting to do what everyone told her she couldn't do. I mean, the writers wouldn't have come up with a plot like that if the issues weren't already in the air.

I do, however, sometimes notice how times have changed when I watch classic TV comedies like The Dick Van Dyke Show. There was one episode (of which I was recently reminded) in which MTM's character was devastated because she had done something to her hair, dyed it or permed it or something, and it didn't come out right. She was terrified of what her husband would think when he got home. That was the whole plot. DVD & MTM played it very well, and it was funny, but no one would ever come up with a TV plot like that today. Like all the wife had to do was worry about what her husband might think of her (very temporarily damaged) looks.

I just can't wait until next Halloween,
'Cause I've got some new ideas
that will really make them scream!
And, by God, I'm really gonna give it all my might!

A pilot episode of 'the Elvira Show ' on YouTube.
It's everything you would expect from the Mistress of the Dark.
After watching it I'm convinced that it was retooled years later as 'Sabrina the Teenage Witch' , talking black cat and all.

I cant get the link to paste so look it up on YouTube and you'll see what I mean.
