What kind of problem is your foot giving you Mau? As an old soldier and cop, I can tell you from experience that you need to take care of the "dogs"(feet)

Don't start worrying about arthritis just yet, it could be any of a number of curable ailments.

Question? What kind of shoes do you wear? Are you standing and or walking a lot during the day? Where is the pain located and how long have you had it? What makes it go away?

Truth be told, you may just need to change your shoes and take a few Tylenol when you get home, and stay off your feet for awhile. Don't think worst case, until all other explanations have been ruled out.

Spooky! I agree with Boogeyman and feel for you. Not much worse pain than a toothache or ache where the tooth used to be. If 300 mgs of Vicodin won't help then I know you be a hurting big time. Hang tough!

Spooky, I am appalled that your dentist was trying to put you off until April 8th when you had a problem like that. It's a very good thing you got that absess treated swiftly.

Mau, I agree with Kolchak that you need to investigate the causes of your foot pain, and not simply accept that this is the way it's going to be for you. I agree that you are too young to be thinking about arthritis as the most likely cause.

It could be gout, too. I have to deal with that pretty much for the rest of my life. It doesn't flare up as badly now as it did when I first came down with it, but there are days that I have a hard time holding my camera up or putting my shoes on.

yeah I wasnt too thrilled with it either and it was unbearable, my wife said she got the impression that the dentists office thought I was a druggy just looking for harder drugs.......whatever

I guess I showed them, I took my business somewhere else (and paid 4Xs the price).......

they wernt too happy when I asked for a referral and my xrays so I could go to the oral surgeon, they refused the referral but gave me my xrays with a "dont let the door hit you in the <deleted>" tone

Time to find a new dentist Spooky.

I just wear regular ol' sneakers. They seem comfortable enough, and I know my feet have acted up before but not this bad, and not for an entire week straight. My foot still hurts, though oddly enough it didn't hurt as bad when I walked around outside at the zoo. I wonder if standing in one spot a lot at work has something to do with it. Sure it hurts to walk around but I think it's worse somehow when I'm stuck at that register all day when it gets too busy for me to move elsewhere. Walking on loose gravel actually seemed to feel good on my feet, while walking on linoleum, pavement or hard wood floors not so much.
My feet normally hurt after work anyway, but it's usually at the bottom or "sole" part of my foot. My right foot has been hurting more at the top of my foot toward the ankle, which you'd think wouldn't be affected by standing on it, yet it is.

It could very well be Gout. I hope not. Gout is a form of arthritis, and my grandma has it.
Also I get back pain sometimes, and sometimes my wrists hurt if I type too long at the computer.

I can try different things, but I know arthritis seems to run in my family.

You are correct about Gout being a form of arthritis, but the good news is that it's more treatable then the rheumatoid variety. Mine does act up from time to time, but I am still very functional thanks to having a decent doctor and the right medications.

Despite having signed up for Obama care insurance, I'm still hesitant to see a Doctor about this.
I try to take it easy on my feet on my days off, but it can't be helped when I'm at work. Work is already frustrating but when it gets busy I'm pretty much standing at the register and can't move or go anywhere (unless the computer doesn't know the price of something, then the alarm goes off and I have to look it up).
I could try a different pair of shoes. I've taken some IBUprofin and Advil back and body before, and I tried some cream that is like a generic brand of bengay. I hope Kolchak's right that it is something that's treatable, because I'd hate to have to see a Doctor, I can't stand hospitals or anything like that.

EDIT: It doesn't make me sad so much as it makes me MAD! It's been raining here all weekend, and if it's nice out next weekend when I have to work, I'm REALLY gonna be upset! GRRRRR!!!!!

The trouble is, I have to plan things around my work schedule.
Like, when I get a Sunday off, we try to plan to do something on that Sunday since Sundays are the only days my boyfriend gets off.
The only other option would be to ask for a day off.

What do George Michael and that other guy(Andrew Ridgeley) have to do with nice weather? I am sure they enjoy it as much most people, but do they control it now?
