I have been thinking about how, in the short timeline of the inter webs, halloween.com is a true survivor and went looking for skeletons in the closet.
Check out this, the oldest screen shot I could find.
I remember that damn skull.
God, I'm old.

All you that doth my grave pass by,
As you are now so once was I,
As I am now so you must be,
Prepare for death & follow me.
Man you are old! Actually, I remember doing Archie, Veronica and Jughead
searches for anything Halloween related. And if you know what I'm talking
about then you are really really old.
I actually archived the usenet group alt.halloween.boo from the
beginning til some time in 2008 when I quit hanging there because
it got overtaken by spam. First post?

BTW: Jughead are Veronica were search engines for gopher, which
predated the world wide web. Text only. Archie searched FTP sites.
Usenet and ftp have been around since the beginning of the internet,
along with email. Those three are still around. Before the internet
were bulletin board systems (BBS), that was my first experience with
online services.
