I'm not sure what you mean by "Armature Night". Are you referring to Goosey/Mischief Night?

Actualy no. "Ameture Night" is a reference SPECIFIC to New Years Even because for a lot of people that's the one and only night out of the entire year that they actualy drink and get drunk, hence the term "Ameture." "Ameture" drinkers who can't hold their liquor will do a lot of stupid things, including but not necessarily limited to driving a car while under the influance. Experienced or "Expert" drinkers usualy can hold their liquor IN MOST CASES, BUT CERTAINLY NOT IN ALL CASES, and when they're sober many do designate a driver before they're too drunk to realize that thay are impaired and should not be driving. On "Ameture Night," or New Years Eve, a lot of people who don't do that sort of th ing on a regular bases, go out, get plastered, and the result is more drunk driving incidents on New Years Eve then any other night of the year.

And my own personal experience with "Ameture Night" was not a drunk driving accident. This happened New Years Eve, 1990. A buddy of mine asked me to take pictures at his party. It was a bachelors party for one of his co workers, and it was a New Years party. (WARNING!!!! THE FOLLOWING IS VERY GROSS AND DISGUSTING. DO NOT READ WHILE EATING, OR IF YOU HAVE A WEAK STOMACH IN GENERAL!!!) I agreed to do it, and I went. He lived in an apartment on one of the more questionable neighborhoods in Joliet Ill. This was a one room Studio apartment, butthere were about 30 people there, and it was elbo to elbo. The party was out in the hall way, and several of his neighbors joined in and just kept their doors opened. It was total bedlum, and that was before they broke out the Kegger. Well, the beer, whisky and vodka flowed like water out of a tap. One of the guys who attended the party got sick to his stomach, couldn't find the bathroom, and grabbed my camera bag and BARFED LIKE I NEVER SAW ANYONE BARF BEFORE! rignt in my cmaera bag. At least I didn't have my camera or flash unit in it, but I didn't ever use that camera bag again.

Mike that explanation makes sense. And while I don't think the rest of your story was quite as gross as you made it out to be no one wants their things ruined(it was probably worse for you since you A) saw it and B) it was your bag).

That's about the name of it, Demonic Duck. It was a nice leather bag, too. IT was an antique, actualy, made out of solke brown shiny leather, but it fit all my equipment and extra rolls of film. It was destroyed by that drunk, so I had to throw it away. I wish I still had that bag, as old as it was. All it took to have it looking shiny and beautiful was a littel brown Kiwi shoe polish and a little elbo grease.

Witch's Special Reserve

1 large clear glass to see contents
Add 50 percent Smirnoff 100 proof
Add 50 percent strawberry soda
Add gummy worms and gummy bugs

Stir, maybe a couple ice cubes too.

Enjoy the evil brew straight from the cauldron.

Just popped the top on a Shock Top Pumpkin Wheat beer. I still like the Pumpkinhead a lot more. I'm picking up a very slight hint of the spices with no pumpkin flavor. I even tried mixing it in a glass like the label suggested. Doesn't give me that Halloweeny tingle up my spine like the Pumpkinhead does.

Well Witchy since you have been so proactive, I dedicated Witch's Special Reserve to you. So next chance you can off to buy smirnoff 100 proof, Strawberry Vess or Fanta soda, gummy worms and if still in season gummy bugs, (Btw Jelly Belly has gummy Tarantulas and Cockroaches sold in single packages and the are realistic size for a tarantula or NY city cockroach). Follow the directions to the t and let me know how Witchs Special Reserve treats you? Take pictures of you preparing it and then you after one glass. :D

Nevermore, after one of those I think i'd be blaring out AC DC's Night Prowler and howling at the moon.

I tried the Shocktop last night as well and was also disapointed by it. No pumpkin flavor at all. It was good as a regular beer but not as a pumpkin beer.

Picked up another case of Pumpkinhead on the way home today. Hopefully that keeps me supplied till the big day. My roommate bought me some Smashed Pumpkin beer, also from Shipyard Brewery. Haven't tried it yet. Maybe tonight. Still haven't had any luck finding any local pumpkin beer. I live in one of the best craft brew towns in the country and can't find a local fix. Just my luck!
