I love the Spooky Town collection too. If I had the money, I would have a huge house. Every room would be decorated with its own theme, like ghosts or pumpkins or vampires. Each room would have it's own village set up too.

I would do the same for Christmas as well.

There's a fabric/craft store here called Joannes and they usually start putting out Halloween crafting stuff and decorations toward the end of August at 70% (I think) off, then every month until the big day the percentage gets bigger =) I made a killing on Spooky Hollow stuff a few years ago and now I don't have room for all the creepy libraries, spooky train stations and haunted houses to be all lit up at once =P

I think they discontinued the Spooky Hollow light up buildings, but they still have some really nice stuff. And they sell a lot of the old school candy too. I'm a fiend for Cow Tails and Sixlets, and I usually can't find them anywhere else.

I'm Trick-or-Treating at your house! Ok, I'm 43, but I'm a young 43. ;)

I like the Lemax stuff, but I'm a sucker for the Dept. 56 stuff. I just wish I could afford it. For awhile I would put on the list of suggestions I would give my in-laws when they asked for Christmas ideas. Occasionally, they would pick something up but I always got the disclaimer that they thought it was weird to give me Halloween things at Christmas. I had a similar situation with my husband. My birthday is in the beginning of November and I asked for a reaper ornament for my birthday. My husband just couldn't get past giving me death as a birthday present.
We're the farmer's scarecrows
We scare away the birds,
We keep the farmer's corn safe
Without any words.
But when Halloween comes
We jump out of the ground
And we scare the boys and girls
When they come walking 'round.

I bought Boo Berry and candy corn at Walgreens! They also had boxes of candy with moons and bats on them and the two other monster cereals. I plan to buy Franken Berry next time I'm there.

I was so excited when I saw today that Count Chocula was back in the stores; I wasn't expecting it yet. Can't wait to get some! :D

I noticed our local Kroger last night was clearing its shelves in the seasonal aisle. I can guess what that means!

I feel your pain, Nevermore. Over the weekend, I took my niece to Garden Ridge to look at Halloween stuff. We had to walk past about a mile of Christmas decorations and hold our breath through the cinnamon scented fog that hung in the air before we could get to the fun stuff :?

Oh, come on! Cinnamon is good! It's associated with fall and Halloween.

I had to go to the book store at the college where I work yesterday for some paper tablets, and they have Halloween items out on display, including pumpkin flavored Malt Balls. I'm munchin on one of them now as I write this, and they are AWESOME!

Eh, I associate cinnamon more with Christmas than I do with Halloween. This may sound weird, but I think Halloween props kind of have their own smell. The Halloween section in stores smell different from the rest of the store and seasonal stores, especially have that particular smell. Add that to the scent of candy and fall, and that's what Halloween smells like to me :)
