I finally got to Dollar General. They didnt have much good stuff this year but I got a tiny $1 hanging Grim Reaper. I took pictures that I'll post soon if anyone cares.

Yes, the lemon one is also very good.

I've been meaning to try Pumpking, how is it?

Last year I bought an assortment of pumpkin beers(Blue Moon, Saranac and a few others) and Pumpking was by far the best. It tasted like pumpkin pie beer. Very good if you see it this year pick it up for sure.

I don't think I've seen any Halloween stores yet, just the stuff you all have already mentioned--decorations at Michael's and Hobby Lobby, recipe books at the grocery store---Taste of Home, Gooseberry Patch, Pilsbury. I need to look through them and compare them to the many others I have already bought.

What do you all think is going to be the top costume this year?

Sorry they're late. Here they are:

Dollar General's goodies when I got there.

The only thing I got is one of those tiny reapers. I was gonna get a MORGUE sign until I noticed they had glitter on them. Dollar General's goodies just aren't my cup of tea this year, so far.

Something went wrong. The bigger pictures were supposed to be small like the other ones. Oh well.

Here's signs of the season I just saw at Walmart. No costumes or decorations yet. But when they come I'll be there!

Lets see how these pictures come out.

great finds RDM!!!

I went to Michaels today and was soo disappointed, they didn't have hardly anything!!! :(

I also went to Cracker Barrel and they actually had a pretty nice selection!! :alien:

We are having a festival this weekend & I'm hoping to find some unusual Halloween stuff there, I can't wait, it's suppose to be in the 70's all this weekend, I bet we will have record setting amount of people coming to it!! (it's a huge event around 1500 venders) :bounce:

Rising Dead Man good finds I like your reaper.

Witchy I haven't been to my local Micahael's yet(need to get paid first) Also waiting to check in on Home Goods they normally have their stuff out pretty early. I'm planning a trip to Cracker Barrel with my wife soon I'm glad to hear they have good stuff. Sounds like a good festival you can always find some good treasures in those places. Hopefully you get your camera situation fixed so you can send us pics of your haul(and we're still waiting on your mad scientist photos).

The local drug store is late with their Halloween items this year. They usualy have it set up by the end of July. The Family Dollare store, however had a lot of Halloween things in shipping cartons but not yet out on the shelvs. I think in about a week the displays will be up.

I think I may need to plan a trip to Cracker Barrel this weekend. Did the Wal-Mart just have clothes, or did they have any other Halloween up yet?
We're the farmer's scarecrows
We scare away the birds,
We keep the farmer's corn safe
Without any words.
But when Halloween comes
We jump out of the ground
And we scare the boys and girls
When they come walking 'round.
