Man! I wish I got Me-TV. Just have the basic cable. 65 analog channels of pure nothingness. I miss History Channel.

We gave up our cable several years ago, but from what I hear, you'd still be missing the History Channel even if you got it. People say it is no longer what it used to be. Instead of being about history, now it's about Ice Road Truckers and people who live in swamps in Louisiana. IOW, reality TV.

That's why I miss it. They show nothing but reality shows now. Hatfields & McCoys was the last good thing on there.

Hell, even the Weather Channel is now all about reality shows. I believe they show them every night in prime time.

Re: Svengoolie @ Me-TV
Back in 'the day,' we had a tiny handful of VHF and UHF tv channels, all brought to us through 'rabbit ear' antannas, and there was plenty of good, interesting programming. Now a days, with over 200 cable channels for me to choos from, all there seems to be on are very BORING "reality" shows. At least the Speed Channel has a few interesting shows on, but then I'm a car nut and a motorcycle nut.
It was the same deal with AM radio. Back in 'the day,' we had three stations on the AM band that played rock & roll music. WLS, WCFL and WIND, and we were almost NEVER at a loss for great music on demand. When I wasn't watching "Dark Shadows," "Creature Features," "Night Gallery" or "Circle of Fear," I was in front of my old Telefunken vaccum tube radio jamming out to the latest and greatest hits like 'White Lies & Blue Eyes," "Treat Her Like a Lady," "It's Too Late to Turn Back Now," "Jimmy Loves Marry Anne," and a whole host of other Top 40 wonders. When Mom or Dad would send me to the store, or I had to walk the dog, my transistor radio became my Siamese Twin. I was never without it, and I allways had people tagging along with me because they also liked a particular song that was playing. Even the older kids loved it when I would "turn on the juice," and Larry Lujack's voice bellowed from the speaker as he intorduced the next hit.
Now a days you have to pay for satlite radio to hear a lot of those old gems again.
