Well, we did, indeed, go see this movie yesterday.

My 14-yr-old daughter was nearly scared out of her mind by it. She was reluctant to enter our darkened house last night! OTOH, 18-yr-old son enjoyed the movie but was also capable of laughing about it (during one scene approaching Eel March House, he whispered to his dad, "Worst real estate deal ever!").

I'm glad I was warned about the threats to children. Being prepared for that, I wasn't as unnerved by it as I might have been.

We all thought the film was well-made and that Daniel Radcliffe was very good in it. We did have a discussion on the way home about the ending, whether we liked it or not, whether we should interpret it positively or negatively.

Your book review makes me think I perhaps should read the novel, Jadewik!
