Chang, I wish you all the luck at getting that job. They will probably want more experienced over the road truck drivers, but who know.

Anyway, I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

Thank you Mike my first step is getting a CDL though because you need to get the CDL or they won't let you drive the truck.

That can be a tough license to obtain. Additionaly the training can be really expensive, but again, I wish you all the best if that's what you want to do. You will get to do a lot of traveling. See lots of places, meet lots of people. That could be a fun gig to have. When I was a kid, I allways dreamed of becoming a rail road engineer believe it or not. That's a job that you really have to know some body to get, though.

I'm a civil engineer. I design roads for a living...

This is where I normally include my rant on idiot drivers who think they know about roads, but they don't. It's also where I include my rant about people who call themselves engineers when it's just their fancy job title. My degree is in engineering, I'm getting professionally licensed, and, yes, I recognize train engineers as "valid" engineers. I'll spare you those rants. =)

And I'm still a photographer, working at my local Community College, and starting up my own home based business.

Well, RisingDeadMan, I certainly wish you luck, because a job isn't just a paycheck. It can also be something to ocupy your time. I do love my Christmas Vacation, and going on long road trips in the Summer time, but I am glad I have a job and a life to get back to when it's over. Part of the reason why I am startring up a business is so when I retire, I will still have something to do on a day to day basis.

I just work in an office. I'm not putting my degree to use--part of me wants to and part of me wants to just take off on another path. Until I get my mind made up, I'm staying put because the atmosphere is pleasant and it pays the bills.

Any to get me out and living on my own and some extra cash for Halloween. The possible summer one is at a farm.

Pumpkin56, that is a very wise choice, being that getting a job in today's ecconomy is paramount to winning the lottery.

Chang, believe it or not, the best field to get into, if you want to make yourself super employable is Nursing. My Harley Riding, psychopathic brother did just that when he got laid off from Caterpiller in the mid 80s, and he had a job about a week after he graduated. He HATED being a nurs, but it paid huge bucks.

RisingDeadMan, again, I wish you all the luck with the farm job, and in any future endeavers. Education is the key. Employers tend to hire for two things. What you know, and what you can do. The unfortunate happenstance is, that for every job that opens, there is a HUGE STACK of resumes that come via the web, so it's a raffle. BUT, you can make your resume more noticable, but you must be able to deliver the proverbial goods if you want to keep the job.

I wish all of you the best of luck.

Mike
