My daughter has a couple of rather good movies on DVD, Enchanted & Stardust. I think it is in Stardust that the witches turn young and beautiful immediately when they get whatever they are after.

Love her voice and accent! It's exaclty what I'd expect an elder witch to look and sound like. Love her!

And how awesome was it when she fought Snape in the last one? Snape was one of my favorite characters, but it was still cool to see her go to bat for Harry. And I loved it when she brought the stone guards to life and was all "I've always wanted to use that spell!"

I wonder, had the Sanderson sisters actually been able to carry out their plans and suck the lives out of all the children in Salem, would Winnie's beauty include better teeth? Like how many children would it have taken to get rid of her buck teeth?

I know! It always kills me when I watch that movie and Winnie has got enough potion for one child and she just has to go hunt Dani down. WHY?! Buy yourself some time and take one of the bullies or one of the zombie kids that are at your front door!!

I haven't watched the Witches of Eastwick in forever! My favorite part is when Jack Nicholson is trying to get Cher in to bed and she totally tells him off. "Your not even interesting enough to make me sick!"

The most beautiful Witch i've ever seen was Michelle Pfeiffer!

I was on holiday once as a kid in Jersey (the channel island). I remember being in the bar area with my brother & parents & seeing a woman who looked at me & I saw red eyes. I had already seen the movie 'The Witches' so that really scared me! To this day that still sends shivers down my spine!

The wicked witch on Wizard of Oz is a good example of what I think witches should look like. The uglier and greener the better! Of course witches can transform into wolves, cats and ravens! No magic wands, just potions and brews made in the caldren! Warlocks should be dressed to the hilt and looking good! Not into the good witches, but the one who plays a good witch on the television movies is a hottie!

The funny thing is, I think the witch in the Wizard of Oz is the only one that I can really recall who looks like that. I've seen a lot of interpretations on the witch, but she's the only one with the green skin and the black pointy hat and the broom and everything. Am I missing some?

I think the green skin is unique to her, for sure. Witches have been associated with flying broomsticks for centuries, though, haven't they? Not sure about the pointy hat. Was there ever a time in history when pointy hats were common?

It's an interesting observation. I'm sure the Wicked Witch of the West was my defining image for witches, too. Because of the popularity of that film, she became totally iconic.
