Long's Bakery here in Indianapolis makes some great Halloween treats. I love going there.
September 1st they begin offering it, I can't wait!

Oh Jack, great photos of the pumpkins! I haven't used the stencil type much, I'm traditional.
But I love how those look! Yours turned out so well!

And yes, the wolf will be at the door, so to speak, come the 1st!

Baking really isn't my forte, iHaunt. I am more of a barbecuer, but I have had some success with cake mixes and pre packaged cookie dough. Perhaps I can mix in some orang food coloring with a tube of Pilsbury.

Before any of the bakeries here start to display Halloween themed cookies and cakes, boxes of Little Debbie autumn cakes and cookies show up in our grocery store - saw some today and am so excited! The ones with the jack-o-lantern faces and layer of pumpkin filling in the middle are my daughters' and my favorite - it's not really that they taste all that great, they just help us get into the mood.

Like I said before, I have been known to add a little orange food coloring to a tube of Pilsbury cookie dough. They don't taste quite as good as my sister in law's cookies, but they come out alright. The little ones like them, as do I.

We get those "Little Debies" too. In fact, I caught a glimps of them at Berkots the other day when I had to shop for bar soap.

I use to love the Hostess Twinkies, Cup Cakes and Suzie Qs, but they changed something about them, so they don't taste quite the same.

I still enjoy a Hostess snack once in a while, but they are a far cry from the delicious treets I enjoyed when I was a kid. I don't know what they did, but they have, for lack of a better term, more of a "fake" taste to them. I think they use to use lard to make the cream filling, and they since went to som substitute which changed the tast drasticly for the worse. They still taste good, but they use to taste great.

My wife went to the local supermarket today & they had a couple of Halloween packaged cakes on sale. Got a pack of chocolate cakes with orange icing on the top. The cake also oozes "blood."

Also got a pack of the Jaffa Cake bars - Halloween style.

Mmm. :D
