Mom caught the Halloween bug.

Post by Nostalgiascape » Sun Aug 14, 2011 1:04 am

I moved here to Missouri from Phoenix to help my mom out. I split expenses with her.

She came home the other day from her job and told me that because of the weather and a few other things, suddenly she felt the Halloween bug. :) I asked her, well while you have it do you want to watch Great Pumpkin? She said yes so we did. I thought that was cute.

I would think that living in Arizona it would be hard to catch the 'bug', although Dia De Los Muertos would help in that regard.

My husband has started pulling out Halloween-related DVDs, too. Stuff like Haunted Histories of one sort or another. He has never done that before. I think he is also longing for autumn!

I'm watching Trick'r Treat for the 4th time as we speak. I have a dvd collection of Haunted History though, so I might pull that out. Thanks for the reminder Murfreesboro!

Hallowed Eve, Trick R Treat is an excellent Halloween film. And even the original copies of out of Print The Midnight Hour cost over 200 dollars new which is (lame) you can find other places online that sell perfect copies of the DVD, cover and all for 9.00. Thats another good classic Halloween film.

I'm admonished by die hard horror fans for being a seasonal fan, but I LOVE my horror films and keep them stashed away until October (atleast I try to) along with all my Halloween specials/cartoons. Once Oct 1 comes ALL decorations go up and it's a rule that we spend every day watching our way through my collection.

This week I already busted out Suspiria and Psycho and last week (eek) I cheated horribly and watched Halloween and Halloween II (originals of course). I feel so dirty, but it was ohhhhh so good. ; )

I tend to watch most of my scary movies seasonally. I don't have strict rules about it, though.

I love to watch scary movies year round but it always increases and becomes a weekly...then daily occurrence as Halloween nears. I record all the Halloween shows I can as well...I get a wee bit obsessed

I live in southern Nevada and about this time of year, when the heat seems relentless, we get excited about seeing Autumn/Halloween stuff in stores because it reminds us that summer is actually winding down and the cool weather will eventually get here.
