200 dollar fine? I know times are tough but using Halloween laws as a scheme to make money is pretty shallow.

I'm glad I don't live there either. And even if I did, I would give candy to anyone who came to my door in a costume and said "Trick or Treat." I'm sorry, but some laws are too stupid to obey, and I would love to see how they can fine me for giving a piece of candy to some one.

If this rediculous law was enacted to curb vandlism, then they just shot themselvs in the foot. Those teenagers who are no longer allowed to ToT are going to be engaging in other "traditional" activities. Activities that involve hair remover, shaving cream, toilet paper and other general 'tom-foolery.'

When I wasn't allowed to trick-or-treat I found other ways of entertaining myself besides <deleted> drugs and hell. But I'm sort of low-key (or boring).

It's the very dictionary deffinition of "rediculous." And again, if anyone gave me a hard time about handing out Trick or Treat candy and called the cops I would fight it in court. Heck, even if I had to go to jail for a couple of days, I would refuse to pay that stupid fine, because as I said before, it's a law that should be disobeyed. I think EVERY ONE in that town should go out ToTing. Of course, if eveyone did that, then there would be nobody to hand out the candy, so perhaps every home should have a "designated" candy hander-outer, and then the rest go TOTing. I would love to see how they could enforce that law.

And if they did that and I was living there, I would stock up on all the good candy so I could be sure not to run out, and a huge sign would be placed on my fromt porch that would read 'ALL TRICK OR TREATers OF ALL AGES ARE WELCOME.

I think it is great seeing older teenager (16 or so) dressed up and ToTing! It means that they are not ashamed of having fun, they are out for a legal ( in my state anyway) good time and they are getting jacked up on chocolate and not other things!

Bring on the dressed up masses I say. Candy to 'um all!!!

In my town, it's not uncommon for the parents to dress up too-I give them candy as wee this law is stupid :alien:

If everyone decids to ToT anyway, they are going to have a major problem enforcing that law.
