Anyone seen the original Leatherface masks for sale?
Hey everyone,
I've been trying to find a Leatherface mask from the original 1970's version of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. I know Leatherface uses a couple (three?) in the movie... I'm looking for the one he uses in the beginning or the one he uses at the end of the movie:
Beginning of the Movie:
End of the Movie:
Unfortunately, all I have found are masks from the recent remakes of the movie. I find them unsatisfying. Even worse, I haven't seen any maskes based off the original ones.
Have any of you seen any for sale online?
Thanks!

This is the closest I've seen to the original mask:

The hair is a bit too frizzy, but you could probably gel it down some. Otherwise, to get a really good one, you may have to make it from scratch.

That is a really good likeness of the first mask. The hair is defiantly fixable but it might be difficult since it's an over the head mask (you could cut it down and glue a better wig on?).

No bother. If you end up getting one, let us know what you manage with the hair, and if the face itself looks as good in person.

So.... I didn't want to bother with the hair issue. In addition, I found no reviews or customer pictures of the mask in question.
So, I ended up getting the next best thing that would fit with my budget this year. I ended up getting the deluxe full over-the-head mask from the remake. It was much better in person and set a great impression upon me opening the box.
The hair and shape is a little messed up from it being in a small box during shipping, but that can be easily fixed.
Can't wait to don it!!!

It's not the original, but when you're running at someone with that on and a chainsaw, they're gonna pee themselves just the same as if it was! Good choice!!

Yeah, there is this group/studio/guy that makes his own Leatherface masks and sells them.. both from the original and remake and look exceptional. However, the prices are rather high.MacPhantom wrote:It's not the original, but when you're running at someone with that on and a chainsaw, they're gonna pee themselves just the same as if it was! I am pretty satisfied with this purchase. Thanks!

Re: Anyone seen the original Leatherface masks for sale?
Thanks guys...
So I did the touch-ups I wanted to carry out: made the hair more realistic-looking, painted the area around the eyes black to give a creepier feel, and made some custom brown arm gauntlets like he has in the remake. All and all the costume is done. All I need is my chainsaw now....
