The Longest Time you STILL Had Left-Over TOT Candy
Hi Folks:
I'm curious about something. At work, a lot of my co-workers bring in candy that their kids got from TOT, but don't like for some reason or another. Last Halloween, we had candy into March. My nephew also had a candy jar full of candy left over from Halloween that his kids didn't like, and that lasted all the way through half of April. I have no kids, so no candy comes in, but the longest I was ever able to make my TOT candy last, was til the day after Thanksgiving.
What about you guys? What is the longest time you ever had TOT candy left over?
Mike

Last night 'twas witching Hallowe'en
Dearest; an apple russet- brown
I pared, and thrice above my crown
Whirled the long skin; they watched in keen;
I flung it far; they laughed and cried me shame
Dearest, there lay the letter of your name!

WOW!!! I certainly wouldn't eat that candy. I just donated two bags of candy to the poor last Sunday.

Re: The Longest Time you STILL Had Left-Over TOT Candy
When I was a child, there was always some candy I didn't like. That stuff would be left in my pumpkin for months, and my mother would end up feeding it to the dog in February.
My daughter still has some of hers left. She's picky, too (doesn't like nuts, for example), so she has some good things left, like Snickers bars. My husband loves those but was recently warned he was borderline diabetic, so he's afraid to eat them. I'm sure one of my sons or I will end up eating whatever is good like that. But there will be some things we won't eat, Tootsie rolls and stuff like that.
We also usually find a stray piece of hard candy in the bottom of one of the pumpkins from the previous year. I always have to wash them out before they can be used again.

We always seemed to end up with licorice at the bottom of our bags.
It seems there should have been some use for that. Maybe to mend the cracks in the driveway.

I CAN'T STAND licorice, but my father loved it. For that reason, I never had any licorice left over, because dad would allways raid my TOT bag for licorice, knowing tha I hate it.
Plain suckers (lolly pops) were allways the last to go. Chocolate, caremens and pop corn balls were allways the first to go.

What are these words that you speak: 'left' and 'over' ??
All you that doth my grave pass by,
As you are now so once was I,
As I am now so you must be,
Prepare for death & follow me.

Re: The Longest Time you STILL Had Left-Over TOT Candy
I didn't have so much as one piece of candy corn this Halloween. Believe it or not, it just slipped my mind.
I still have about a bag and a half of candy to deal with, as I continue my Christmas house cleaning. So far, the kitchen and diningroom are ready for the Holidays. The bathroom and the living room are still in need of attention. Tonight I work on the Bathroom.

I am delegating some house-cleaning to my roomie. She made more mess than I did. hehe
That way I can finish off the candy.

Re: The Longest Time you STILL Had Left-Over TOT Candy
We usually finish off the leftover candy within a week after Halloween. (It helps to get things people like.) I do have some gummy candy corn which I picked up on sale a week ago (I had to try it) but almost all the stores seem to have already cleared their leftovers.
