Hello,
I give candy to everyone. Believe it or not I had friends when I was young, who's parents would not let them dress up, they believe it was devils work. I was one of the worst little devils they ever met. I sneaked them in at my house & did just what some of you did. I put buuny ears on one & a santa hat on the other. We had sooo much fun. I wonder if they ever told there parents? I don't think everyone has friends like me so I give to everyone.

Halloween tradition is forbidden to many religions. I think the Evangelical Protestants are forbidden to take part in it. It's truely sad, but then you have to look at it from a pragmatic angle. I'm forbidden to take part in Seances, which are very popular during October. I am also forbidden to eat meat on Fridays during the Lenten Season, and Ash Wednesday and Good Friday are what we call "Black Fasts," which means nothign inbetwen meals, and only 3 small meatless meals on those days.

But I do hate to see anyone deprived of Halloween, especialy 'Trick or Treat."

it is sad mike.. i just look at the memories i've developed over the years because of the holiday and it makes me sad to know that bc of their parents ignorance... they're being deprived of a great holiday thats just all in good fun.. one that simply brings people together to have fun.. no gluttony (sure there's candy but thats treats for kids) no jealousy, no stress...... christmas has all of this times a thousand... so does thanksgiving... its sad.. it truly is an innocent holiday that over the years has been BLOWN way out of preportion

well you cant say they are ignorant if it is their religion, we have to accept peoples beliefs no matter what we think.

on the other side tho, I built my coffin way back, and at that time I didnt have any real power tools, so I asked to borrow my brothers tools, he said "sure" but when he found out I was building a coffin for Halloween his wife wouldnt allow me to borrow all the other tools I needed, I was only able to barrow the ones he gave me before he knew what I needed them for. What makes this even more annoying is, my brother and his wife are people of faith when it's convenient for them, they have no problems going to Las Vegas and gambling or other things they enjoy doing that is frowned upon by their faith.......

no.. no.. no.. lol i'm not speaking against the religious ones

i'm speaking on the ones who are "no razor blade apples for you, we will not celebrate this demonic holiday, i'm lazy, i didn't grow up with halloween and neither will you"

those are the kinds of people we get around here

It's funny, but people do have a lot of problems accepting what others enjoy. I've been taught that anything done to excess is bad.

We also have a lot of people like Adrien described, who just don't want to be bothered. Some of them use religion as an excuse, others just don't care. But for the most part, most of the people where I live are Halloween lovers.

I do get religious literature in my mail box, however, that does preach against the "devils holiday," and that the fires of hell await all those who celebrate his demonic jack o'lanterns or Trick or Treat. I agree, that we have to accept the rights of all believers to practice their individual faiths, but a lot of the guys putting out this propaganda actualy work at the gambling boats. Of course, every Catholic parish has "Bingo Knight," and many have "Casino Night." But the Evangalicals are the ones who really campaign against Halloween.

If you're not wearing a costume, you're not trick-or-treating, in my opinion.

What if Halloween and trick-or-treating aren't against their religion, but wearing a costume is? What if begging for sugary treats is one of the Five Noble Truths?
