Age Limit for Trick or Treat
Hi Folks:
I was out and about the other night, and I over heard two of my neighbors talkig about the upcomming Halloween holiday, and the jist of their conversation was that there should be an age limit on TOT. Nobody over the age of 16, according to these two gentlemen, should be leagaly allowed to TOT, with the exceptions of parents who are with their kids, or in the case of an older sibling who is watching over a younger sibling.
What do you all think of that. Should there be an age limit on Trick or Treat, and if so, what should that age limit be?

Re: Age Limit for Trick or Treat
OOPS. I allways said that anyone who comes to my door will get candy provided they wear a costume and say "Trick or Treat." Unfortuantely, my mouse and my brain were not in synk as I voted for Infant to 16, instead of No age limit as was my intention.
I admit that TOTing as an adult does seem a bit odd, but I love TRADITION so much, that I would not deprive anyone of my candy, AS LONG AS THEY UPHOLD THE TRICK OR TREAT TRADITION of dressing up in a costume, ringing the door bell and saying "Trick or Treat."

Nope. No limits. If you're on my doorstep on October 31st, two or twenty two or eighty two, costume or birthday suit, say "Trick or Treat" or "Gimme some candy, you ugly goon!" or nothing at all, speak English or Japanese or Spanish or Pig Latin.... it's all the same to me. You get candy.

Last night 'twas witching Hallowe'en
Dearest; an apple russet- brown
I pared, and thrice above my crown
Whirled the long skin; they watched in keen;
I flung it far; they laughed and cried me shame
Dearest, there lay the letter of your name!

The older kids I got this year were respectful and said the magic words. So I'll have to go with no limit. (for now)
Oh, your so cool, Brewster!
Hey, Butchy. They still got Oreo's next door?
Dracula's in the house!!! In the house?!
Welcome to the party, Honey!

Re: Age Limit for Trick or Treat
We had a banner year for TOT this year, as I said in other threads. The age ranged from infants to teens, and we even had some visitors from other towns. They actualy did extend TOT to go from 2:00 pm to 7:30 instead of 3 to 7 which is customary when Halloween is on a week day. (All the more reason why Halloween and All Saints Day should be school holidays if you ask me) All in all, I gave out more candy this year then any other. I roasted a hot dog in my fire place, and went on my Halloween Midnight Motorcycle Ride. It was COLD, but it was fun.
Anyway, the day was a success, and I'm sure Next Year is going to be equally fun and full of great Halloween cheer.
