The Santa Rita Hotel... which was torn down in Sept 2009 and replaced with the new corporate HQ for the power company. I can't wait to see if they have the ghost of Furgeson and others.

That was a good read about the Santa Rita!

The only place where I've ever sensed ghosts was the Alamo, so I guess I'd have to say that's the one I'd choose.

For me it's Bachelors Grove. I have sort of a special affinity for that place because of all the talk I heard about it when I was in high school.

.
Not that I've been to many haunted places but I would have to say 'The Star of India'. There's something intriguing about a haunted ship, especially one as old as the Star. Even Jason and Grant got spooked on it. The Queen Mary is all well and good but there's something about hearing the flap of the sails and creaking of the deck that really puts you in the mood. As a bonus, every so often around Halloween, you can sit on the deck and watch scary movies projected on a sail. I've done this a few times. It's creepy.

I doubt it. At least, I haven't heard anything like that. I would think 'Ghost Ship' was based on a more modern ship, like the Queen Mary or Andrea Doria.

I love that movie BTW. Music is cool.

I like that movie too but I know nothing about the back story or "history" of the story

If you are thinking in terms of the movie "Ghost Ship," that was an old steam powered ocean liner, not a sailing ship. If you were thinking of the movie "Death Ship," that was a WW 2 Era Nazi "death" ship. Niether one of those shipe were sailing ships. Both were steam ships.

I'll hi-jack it next time it goes to sea and sail it there so you can see it.

iHaunt... The Star of India is a supposedly haunted sailing ship...

Me too! :)

I'm determined to visit one day. I'm hoping to go to Boston sometime to visit the JFK Presidential Library & Museum, so i'll tie it in with that trip.

My favourite haunted place would be the old mental hospital I spoke about in another thread. Built in the 1920's & boy was that creepy! It's been torn down now though.
