There are things I didn't take photos of because my family said they'd share theirs from when they went... I never got 'em.... which is sad... but it just means I'll have to go again!

The number 13 is predominant in this house. There really are staircases that end at the ceiling, doors that open to walls, a door that opens to a 30-foot drop, missing fireplaces, pipe organs, stained glass, and luxuries that defy all explanation.
The (short and poorly written) story goes something like this:
After Mrs. Winchester's husband, inventor of the Winchester rifle, died... the lady of the fortune got really into the paranormal. (She even has a seance room in her house.) Mrs. Winchester had a medium tell her that she needed to build a house large enough to house those who died at the hands of her husband's rifle. So... she started her mansion. She was the designer. She would build, re-build and expand and expand... when she died, they were still working on the house. Since it's so large, it's easy to get lost or turned around inside the house.
So... her house supposedly is home to several spirits. I've seen TV ghost stories about this place... where employees would see people walking outside past second story windows only to check and note that there is no outdoor balcony in that particular area. There are also supposed ghosts in the basement.
Unfortunately, it's been so long since I've visited the Mystery house, I can't recall all the juicy details... so if anyone else has anything to add, feel free.
I do know this house inspired the TV mini series by Stephen King titled "Rose Red".
Now... on to the images.
