As if living in California weren't bad enough.

I was in La Jolla for at UCSD for grad school, but that was quite awhile ago. It was crowded then with high taxes and very expensive. The climate was practically perfect though.

I did my time in Silicon Valley for 26 years.

There was a rumor going around that there was something called 'outside'., but nobody had actually been there.

Sorry but unsurprised to read that article. I was on an epic road trip this mo (10, 840 miles/15 states), and I did spy a Spirit Halloween in Denver.

I rarely make it to haunted attractions, but I intend to prep for ToT as usual--yard haunt, costuming, candy. I don't see why door to door should be especially dangerous.

I agree. We’ll be wearing masks and giving out candy depending on if people come by.

Did you make it to the end of the trail?

We saw the beginning of the trail, following the Missouri River into Nebraska, and picked it up again, from Missoula, Montana, across Idaho, through extreme eastern Washington State, and down the Columbia River to Astoria. So, yes, we saw the end, but not the great middle (SD, ND, most of MT). The truth is, we couldn't make the whole trail in 15 days, and we wanted to see Grand Teton/Yellowstone in WY. So our hope is to do the middle part of the trail with the rest of our family (husband and daughter) in a couple of years. We could do Glacier National, return to the WY parks, and maybe pick up Mt Rushmore abd the Badlands. My husband loves the mountains but isn't into the oceans, so I think this might appeal to him.

That sounds fun.

So if the corporate 'big wigs' want to cancel out Halloween, so be it. We can STILL put together a great bash such as the world has never seen, and we should. We all should make it a POINT not to let Covid 19 ruin our favorite day of the year.

Didn't TPTB tell southern Californians not to celebrate the 4th, yet many did it anyway? People are not going to give up Halloween.

Good point and good for them. I REFUSE to put Halloween in a box because of a disease with a 99% survival rate, and the only mask I'll be wearing around my house will be a Halloween mask. ToT candy will be here and at the ready, though I don't expect to see very many ToT ers if any at all. It's sad, but I do think the Covid 19 sueth sayers have put the final nail in the coffin of that tradition which was pretty much dyeing before Covid 19, anyway.

Of course, there's always this lousy election to clutter up the works, too.
