New Guy
Hi there,
After lurking in the shadows on these forums for some time now, I have decided to join you. My hope is to get on here as much as I can, but some months that might not be very often.
I’m a Halloween nut, and even in the doldrums of February I think about fall. I love Halloween. I like the decorations, how it brings out the kid in me, the macabre, the orange lights, the memories and especially the time of year. It’s getting cooler, the hunting and football seasons are in full swing and the changing leaves and shorter days make me feel absolutely alive.
I’m also guilty of being a bit of a Christmas nut, hunting nut, football nut. I used to live for July through New Years Eve…I’d start getting ready for fall hunting and Halloween planning come July when the corn started getting high around here. I’d start delving into Halloween shows and décor come August. I usually get my fall décor up on Aug. 31 and Halloween decorations up around the first day of fall in mid-late September. Then I try to soak it all in, although work and life seem to get in the way of what was on my mind as a perfect time of year all year when I wasn’t in it.
I decided a few years back that life is too short to dwell on a certain time of year, especially to then realize that life does not stop during that time of year to enjoy it as much as I’d like. So I decided to just live in the moment a few years ago. If I am in the Halloween mood in February, I can put on a movie, maybe watch the great pumpkin, or come online to these forums to enjoy myself. Same with other aspects of life. So enough rambling, that’s my story. Glad to be here and hope you’ll have me as another Halloween enthusiast.

Welcome! What do you like to hunt, and where do you hunt it?
Are you more of a college or pro football guy? What are your favorite teams?

I suggest when you post here you do so in disjointed sentences, saying nonsensical things. People here love that!

I am not sure if I can implement a like button on here, but will look into it - that is a good idea.

Great idea. I've been considering dumping phpbb altogether since the last big update was years ago for it...but they've been promising to make plug-in functionality easier so I keep waiting!
