Little Halloween Info & My Return
Hi Folks:
Well it's been a while, but I am finaly back, and after two days of frozen hell and shoveling snow, I am happy to be back at my favorite cyber haunt.
Unfortunately the news isn't all that good regarding "Little Halloween." We only get 1 this year, and that will be Friday June 13th. The good news, is at least, I won't have to shovel snow on that day unless something goes radicaly wrong with our weather system.
I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving, Christmas and will have a very Happy New Year.
Mike

Happy new year, Mike!
All you that doth my grave pass by,
As you are now so once was I,
As I am now so you must be,
Prepare for death & follow me.

Thanks. I am hoping 2014 is a darn sight better then 2013 was. Perhaps since it was the 13th year, it was a bad luck year for a lot of people. As I stated in another thread, I am marking the days off the calender until January and February are over. It's already Jan 10th, which means that we are roughly 1 third of the way through Jan already.

I too loathe winter.
Our area is experiencing an historic drought, so even though it means higher water bills and rationing, the sunshine during the short winter days is a godsend.

In my area, I probably saw the sun peak out about 2 or 3 times since last Sunday, but that's it. At least the temps are going to stay above freezing and it's supposed to rain, so we may see some melting of all the snow.

Re: Little Halloween Info & My Return
I sort of overlooked the last "Little Halloween" but it could just be because it was in December and I had a particularly bad day at work that day. I think it was the day I dropped a bunch of jars of marinara sauce and had to clean up the mess. Not to mention, in December my mind is all focused on Christmas.
But since I start thinking about Halloween in roughly about the end of July and into August, it might be more exciting to celebrate a little Halloween as a pit stop on the way to the big day and it might just jump start the Halloween mood earlier than usual since it's in June.

Why not? All holidays were probably made up at some point in human history.

Speaking of making one up, that's how I plan to celebrate my Birthday next July. I am going to put up some halloween decorations and lights and watch horror movies. Of course, no Halloween is complete withoug a weenieroast, which in July will be outside instead of the livingroom fireplace. Music will also be a huge part of my celebration. My Birthday, however, is on a Thursday this year, so I won't be able to have many friends over.
