There is is prime window between the middle of March and Middle of May to start growing pumpkins. Actually May is cutting it close even. I'd wager this season will offer us much rain. So if you need to read up on how to, you know somneone who can show you, or you already know how to garden i'd say..find that perfect spot and begin your pumpkin garden.
Happy gardening.

WEll, it's too hot to grow pumpkins here in VA because it's pretty similar to FA.

I do plan to make another attempt, but thanks for the advice. I think instead of waiting until May like Iusualy do, I'll plant in April, and I'll start growing my seadlings this weekend when I get a paycheck.

Never tried it. My dogs would eat them when they were small I'm sure.

... I think I missed the "plant by" date in Arizona. Then again, with all the crazy "hard freeze" and snowy weather we've had.... maybe not. I have seeds from last year I never used... if I can find a free weekend before it gets back in the high 90's... maybe... but I doubt it. =/

Well, if I actualy get pumpkins, then you will have something to look forward to.
Morticia, I never heard of dogs eating pumpkins, but then it's a well known fact that dogs are omniverous, so it is plausable.

Ok, have all of you eaten a raw piece of pumpkin before? When I was in elementary school, an older teacher gave all of us (kids) to taste the raw piece of pumpkins that was cut out from inside, you know? It tastes funny! But, it's good for your health.
Pumpkin seeds is good as nuts! Pumpkin stuff is great for pies, breads, biscuits, muffins, etc.
