Hey, anyone got some pumpkins yet???

Post by iHaunt » Thu Sep 09, 2010 11:14 pm

I know this is so earlier to get some pumpkins everywhere.... How sick that my step brother already got a jumbo pumpkin that was 24 pounds today! :? It did look very good! However, I told him that it was not a good idea to buy it earlier already.... it will go bad anytime. I prefer to wait till the 24th of October. He really doesn't get it, and he really didn't care of anything at all.

most places dont allow you to take pics, you have to do it on the sly, and why was he taking pics like that anyway, I could understand if he was taking pics of an item he might want or if he sees an item someone he knows might like, but it looked like he was just snapping away pics of the whole store.....I dont have a problem with them kicking him out.

I dont know how that post I made ended up in this topic, i could have sworn I posted that in the topic of the guy getting kicked out for taking pics in the Halloween store......I must have been more tired then I thought last night.

Anyway, yeah you're right iHaunt, it's way too early to get pumpkins, we wait until a few days before Halloween, a week at the most.

They didn't invite me though so I am sad...

There aren't any pumpkins for sale in my area yet. they usualy don't go on sale until the latter half of September, but I often do buy pumpkins early and late, so I can have a jack o'lantern through the entire month of October. I often do end up throwing the early October jadk o'lanterns away because they get rotten, and end up replacing them with new ones, but to me it's worth it. I love the flicker of a jack o'lantern during the cold, crisp days of October, so I don't mind the clean-up, expense and inconvenience of having to carv more pumpkins. It's fun, in fact, and I look forward to it.

I will be carving my first pumpkin on October 1st.

I've seen pumpkins at two grocery stores so far. I buy one as soon as I see them just because I get excited and want to carve that first one of the year. Then I'll buy a few more up until Halloween.

Hmmm..... I think it's good idea to buy a pumpkin right now to keep yourself busy to carve it, and put the candle in it to lit and put on the front porch until October 1st. Then we all can buy more pumpkins. ;)

I saw the most gorgeous pumpkins at Kroger's tonight! Huge white ones as well as orange! I wanted to buy some, but I can't afford to buy them this early, just to see them rot. They will never make it to Halloween in this climate, not this early in the season.

I never usualy buy pumpkins this early in September, but I do buy one or two after I finish the Halloween cleaning, and I almost allways, without fail, carve a pumpkin on the 1st of October. The only time I missed that was when I had an important photo asignment, and I didn't get home from work until 11:30. I was too tired, but you can bet that come the next morning, that pumpkin was carved.
