Have just seen the first pumpkin of the year in a British supermarket!
When do they start arriving in the US stores?
One other thing, while I'm here.....next year I'm thinking of spending Halloween in the colonies...umm I mean the USA; where would you recommend as the best place to capture that Halloween feel.
I have a friend in Conneticut.....any good?

First Pumpkins in UK stores
The steeples are white in the wild moonlight,
And the trees have a silver glare;
Past the chimneys high see the vampires fly,
And the harpies of upper air,
That flutter and laugh and stare.

Absolutely perfect. Use it as a home base. You can make day trips around if you like, and there is nothing like the ambience of a New England halloween. Boston and the witch hangings are the most famous,but all the colonies, including Upper Canada (now Ontario) have great witch and ghost stories....you really can't go wrong and the fall colors should be great..
