Harry Potter
Do the Harry Potter films count as Halloween films?
If you too like them (or not like them but love them like me) which is your favourite? And why?

Well they have lots of Halloween imagery, and they're definately on my Halloween list.
Prisoner of Azkhban is my favourite (apart from the overlong ending).
And I love the music

The steeples are white in the wild moonlight,
And the trees have a silver glare;
Past the chimneys high see the vampires fly,
And the harpies of upper air,
That flutter and laugh and stare.

Hi Felix...you could say I'm a bit of a Potter fan One of my best costumes is Madam Hooch (I have short spiky hair), hence the nickname. I love all of the movies, but I would have to say I like Prisoner of Azkaban the best so far, but my favorite book is Half-Blood Prince. I can't wait until all the movies are made. A little sad about the series being over with the next book, however. I could read about Harry forever! Glad to have you on the board.

Because they are usually released here at Christmas, I usually wind up playing them BETWEEN the two seaons..they seem to have elements of both...the feast look just like the old style Christmas dinners you would give your left arm for, and the snow scenes could be reprinted on UNICEF cards...but there is also the spooky stuff that happens in the rest of the school year that puts it in the Halloween camp..the kind of film I play after halloween and before Christmas..just to keep the flavor going..
Future events such as these will effect you in the future

I love Harry Potter, too, and I totally agree that it's in the Halloween spirit! I love the haunted castle, and the robes, and the magic, and the overall atmosphere is absolutely halloweenish. I've read them all multiple times, and own all the movies. The music is also wonderful, I have all of the scores (thanks Mr. Ruger) and they make great background noise at work to help me concentrate.
I saw a werewolf drinking a pina colada at Trader Vic's. His hair was perfect.

i never thought of the movies as being a halloween movie. ican certainly see how they could be catagorized as that though.
i just love the books and movies. my favorite movie is goblet of fire (eventhough there was no ton tongue toffee, clarlie, and bill in it). that 1 was just so dark and kreepy, i love it
my fav book is also the half blood prince. i love snape. he's by far the best character in the series

I'm with you, I want snape to come good though something tells me he won't.
I hope Dumbledor doesn't make a return. To be honest I strugglede through the last book, as Harry gows up some of the magic is leaving the series and being replaced by run-of-the-mill fantasy. I'm glad the last book will wind things up

snape will redeem himself
i truely believe dumbledore ordered snape to kill him (he was dying anyway. the hand was just the begining.) so he and draco could be saved
(if you don't know what i'm talking about, read the book)
and sirius will come back. he was also too good of a character to be in the series for such a short time

I think that Snape is really on the side of good. Dumbledore has had too much faith in him over the years, and I trust Dumbledore's judgement. I agree, that Dumbledore had Snape kill him, because he was the only one that could be trusted to carry out that order, as difficult as it was. I think there will be some higher purpose to Dumbledore's death. We'll just have to see, but I for one cannot wait! If you like Harry Potter try Mugglenet.com, it's a good site for what I have found to be pretty reliable info.
