Took the weekend and built a web site!

Greetings! I've been meaning to build a web site for my yard haunt for a long time, and I finally took some time out to put something together.

It's not complete -- I want to add a lot more to the history; photos; and I need to actually build the collection of "How To"s I have in my head.

But, as a taste of things to come, here it is:

That's a great web site, and when I have more time, I will poke around it a little more. I would love to visit that town some time, too.

Wow, that's quite a haunt! Now that's what I call a Halloween display! I don't think I've ever seen that much effort put into a Halloween display before. Sure people decorate but man, wow!

I have updated the site with more pics, and if people are wondering, the toddler running around the graveyard is our youngest, Elly. She was a little over 16 months old last Halloween.

I hope to build the "How To"s soon.

I made it back safe, no bandido's, no druglords, just lot's of pushy vendors!
Was a wild time, need a vacation from my vacation.
Guess I better get my website fixed up so I can keep up, good idea putting the how-to section

Awesome site. Did you hardcode it? What language? Use any program to help design the site?

It looks fantastic!

I built the interface (pumpkins and background) in a program called "Freehand", then imported layers into PhotoShop for treatment and transparency settings. Exported from PhotoShop as PNGs, then built the site in Flash CS3.

When I get some time to build the "how-to"s and other links, they'll just be hardcoded HTML pages I'll write up in Notepad.

No, not really. I'm more a graphic designer than a programmer. I know HTML and work a lot in Flash. Flash allows XML and arrays, so I just use folder groups with my stuff -- but my stuff is really simple.

Wow, you're into graphic design? Did you make those pumpkins you use on your website and avatar? If so they look great and spooky too!
HTML and Flash are very useful things to know. Sadly, I don't know much about them.
I'd like to have my own website...well I DO have one but it's not Halloween related.
I'd like to learn flash or other animation things. I can make animations in Adobe Imageready, but if I want sound I have to transfer it to windows movie maker. I know it sounds cheesy but it's the best I can do.
