Los Amgeles cancels Halloween due to Covid.

Just heard it on TV. No TOT, no parties, no haunted attractions.
I hope the rest of the country doesn't follow suit.

Guess what. People are going to throw THEIR OWN parties, and I'm sure a lot of people will be giving out ToT candy, DESPITE what the government tells them not to do. I know that Covid or no Covid, I plan to have HALLOWEEN in ALL IT'S GLORIES this year.

You know, my daughter said exactly the same thing. People will celebrate, and no one can stop them.

Good for her and good for you, Murf. I realize that Covid 19 is a serious business and some people are more at risk then others, but the fear mongering going on is unacceptable, and I REFUSE to allow it to ruin my Halloween or my October. Come to think of it, I don't intend to let it ruin Thanksgiving or Christmas for me, either. It's very unlikely there will be a family gathering of any kind for those two days because of this pandemic, but I do plan to celebrate both of those holidays, too. After all, we went through much worse then Covid 19, and didn't stop, cease and desist on everything enjoyable because of it.

At any rate, I'm glad I live where I live. The 'big day' is just around the corner, and I am looking forward to making the whole month of October a memorable celebration of everything spooky and creepy.

Our neighbors are starting to decorate. Everybody is psyched for holiday season, which starts at Halloween.

Well, I don't know what kind of a holiday season it's going to be this year, being that my brothers and sisters are all quite spooked over Covid 19, but I personally plan to celebrate with a vengeance, and observe all my beloved traditions. STARTING in October.

I'm already wondering about Christmas. My husband and I both sing in the church choir, which is not meeting this fall due to Covid. My daughter's alma mater, Sewanee, has cancelled its annual Lessons and Carols due to Covid. Sewanee's L&C is huge, drawing crowds of 2400-3000 every year. I cannot imagine Christmas without music. But right now is when the choirs start prepping for it, and nobody is meeting.

By all appearances, I have a few of my neighbors who will be here for Halloween, but I may only see one sister and maybe my niece for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Covid really has many of my relatives spooked.
