I know its mad early to bring this up. But I thought it would be nice, if excessively proactive, to discuss the possibility of a tradition here at Halloween.com; the Halloween Gift Exchange 2019.

I don't think it's "mad" at all. In fact, it gives us the rest of July, August and September to coordinate it. I would love to take part in it. I took part in it before everything went 'south for winter' in my life and it was a lot of fun. The way I remember it is we all agreed upon a set amount of money so not to over spend, and we all made 'Trick or Treat' wishes and the person who got our name would get it for us and mail it out. In turn that person would buy a gift for who ever's name he or she drew.
YES, LINUS THERE IS A GREAT PUMPKIN. I wonder who I'm going to play 'Great Pumpkin' to this year. I wonder who will be my great pumpkin.

I can set it up again if we have enough people to do it, I use to do it when we had a lot of people, I miss all those people too!

Well, I can use a little Halloween fun this Summer so you can count me in if we do end up doing it.

Just a quick little 'aside' here: "Little Halloween" for this year is on Friday September 13th, and on Friday December 13th (Creepmas). I will post a thread when it gets closer to the time.

I'm sorry to be no help. I've always thought the Grim Reaper exchange was a fun idea, but we are chronically cash-strapped. This season we've been sucked dry by the Nashville Shakespeare Festival, in which my daughter has been participating since late June. It runs through the end of Sept. She is in the Apprentice Company, not the professional co. The pros get paid. The trainees have to pay tuition, but that's not the worst of it. The worst has been the daily commute, six days a week until the performances started in mid-August. Then it dropped back to five days a week, but it runs later into the night (off at ten instead of nine). Our entire lives have been up-ended by the grueling schedule, and we must have spent a fortune in gas and fast-food meals.

You're good parents for doing that.

Well, we try. She has declared that she won't do it again unless they pay her.

I know what it is to be strapped for cash. The past few years have been a night mare since the fire, and I am only beginning to get back on my feet after that disaster, health problems of my own and in my family and the like. I couldn't afford a computer or internet service until last June, so I couldn't even get here, much less participate in the Grim Reaper Exchange. I do plan to celebrate the entire Halloween season WITH A VENGENCE this year, however, being that it's the first time in 5 years I will be celebrating it in my own house and not in a rented apartment.
At any rate, Murf, I'm glad everything worked out for you and yours. I hope, money issues not withstanding, that you have a great Halloween season.
