We can decorate our cubicles at work this year and there will be a contest. I am excited.

I've got my yard lights up, but I still need to set out props, and I haven't carved any pumpkins yet (though I did bake one last week). Around here, it's often so warm in Oct that you are just wasting your effort if you carve them too soon. I usually wait until after the 20th even to buy them.

And I start a new job tomorrow, so my time for decorating is more limited than in the past. But it will happen!

I got a few things out, like my giant bat and a few black cats. Pumpkins are on my steps. Just bought some tent stakes so I can put out my blow ups. I plan to get my grave yard out soon with a couple skeletal hands sticking out of the ground.

Meanwhile trying to catch up on school work.

We got our apartment decked out in mini pumpkins. We also put up some orange lights. That might be all we do since we are in an apartment. Carved pumpkins come right before the big day!

How is school going for you, Mau?

I just started a job teaching freshman comp to dual enrollment high school students. Their previous teacher just walked out.

Oh, and I did get a few more yard props out yesterday. My favorite is my "ghost dance"--five little ghosts dancing around a 'bonfire" of orange minilights strung in a redbud tree.

Sometimes, when I read all of your posts..I wish we didn't do the whole yard in a 'theme' I love the idea of the little ghosts dancing around a bonfire!
Unfortunately, we get ourselves into these huge projects and of course, little ghosts don't fit in with romans...or do they?

These are the pillars getting ready to be attached to the front porch

and we had to attach the top piece to the front of them in order to paint it...it will eventually sit on the top of the pillars...I hope...lol

and this is dead Caesar

notice the Jack o lanterns on the top piece?

Update on the party.

The cops were called at 9:10pm....are you freakin' kidding me? Of course, we ignored them...DJ continued playing...they came back at 10:20pm.. DJ shut down at 11.
We had about 65 people here, but we had expected more.
Many, many costumes...That was my favorite part..Everyone really costumed up and that was awesome!

I advise you to find something more original for your next halloween. Why not small apples cut like a pumpkin.
