Jack, I think you will see a very huge pumpkin on tv this year.... maybe in October. I'm not sure if it will be on History or Discovery channel. Check it out yourself. Or, if I find out then I will let u know. ;)

Ok, thanks for the heads up.

I'm always looking through the History & Discovery channels on my documentary tab on my SKY box. I'll keep a look out for it. :)

Actualy IMHO the Halloween season begins at the end of this month. My decorations will go up on the 28th or 29th, and I carve my first pumpkin on the first weekend of Oct, and the decorations stay up until the 3rd of November. So I calebrate Halloween from Sept 28th through November 2nd, and then everything comes down for the year on Nov 3rd so I can start my Christmas cleaning.

Which reminds me. I have to start getting my house in order for the Halloween season, and get some fire wood ready for the 'big day' itself.

Sounds good! :)

We've now decided that we'll put most of our decorations up during the first few days of October. :D

Yes, I like your thinking, Mike. Right now, I still have my "patriotic" door decoration, which I'll leave up through this weekend, for sure. But I am not sure what to put up after that, because my Halloween door decoration, with three little ghosts saying "Happy Haunting," seems a bit premature in early September. They go up around Oct. 1. Maybe I'll just leave my heart-shaped flag up until time for the ghosties.

Autumn is, hands down, my favorite season of the year. I love everything about it, and Halloween is the pinnacle of the fall for me. But I also have a nice turkey door decoration I put up in November. My Christmas decorations generally go up Thanksgiving weekend.

Unlike some folks here, I really do love Christmas, too. It's just that, for me, holiday season starts around October 1. The general public seems to think of the holidays as being from Thanksgiving through New Year's.

I will take down my 13 star, Betsy Ross flag on Monday evening.

I already have some artificial flowers and stuff around the house, but those only go away during Christmas, which I also enjoy very much.
All you that doth my grave pass by,
As you are now so once was I,
As I am now so you must be,
Prepare for death & follow me.

Murf, Christmas was my favorite holiday when I was a kid, but now a days, it's not evenmy 2nd or 3rd fav. I still love it. I have a Tree Triming party for my grand nieces and nephews, and they all love it, but it just doesn't have the same excitement about it as it once had. Christmas, is also a very sacred religious observance for me, so I allways celebrate Christmas and I allways observe the Advent season with advent candles at every dinner.

As for Halloween, that is and allways will be my favorite holiday of the year, bar none. Summer is my favorite season, but Halloween is my favorite holiday, and October is my favorite month.

I start putting my Halloween stuff out Sept 15, Because it takes me forever to get it all out. I start with the Halloween decor inside, then on Oct 1st I start putting my Halloween outside decor up, well most of it anyways, some I don't get out till the big day, because I don't want it stollen!! I have about 15 totes of Halloween stuff, crazy I know!!!
