I only use the most common types. Ones that are ALWAYS used on lots of forums. I do't mind explaining them. "OEJ"

Hehehe....... Touche, Wolfie! Names, however, are a little different.
And I didn't pick my alias. In the beginning it was just easier for folks to type......... WHIIIIIICH is the very reason people use acronyms to begin with. I know, I know. I'm just not a big fan of acronyms! KWIM?

And my OEJ tag now kind of has a life of it's own...... It's kind of like the Winkie guard chant from the Wizard of Oz......
"OWEEEEJAY"!
"OOOOWEJAY"!

BTW: Their actually chanting "Oh we owe, the old one". Meaning the wicked witch of course.

That's a VERY common belief but you're going to have to believe me on this one, dude.....
There's nothing more to it than what it actually sounds like:
OH-WE-YO... OOOOH-YO.

Through years of osmosis (or OZmosis) I know more about the Wizard of Oz than anyone should!

A lot of people consider The Wizard of Oz an actual Halloween movie so, perhaps I can start an OZ thread and we can talk more about it there.

:D

Why would they put gibberish like that, instead of actually giving the WINKIE GUARDS real words to chant. Clean the Sculpty outta your ears and listen this time.

Happy Halloween Everyone!

Ok, where to begin...

My name is Chris. I'm a 29 yr old designer from Michigan and I work for a company called Home Logic. The reason I love Halloween so much is because it's my job! We develop pumpkin carving kits, lights, accessories all revolving around pumpkin carving...

My job is to create the stencils and the art that goes on them. That means that Halloween is pretty much a year round thing for me.

My favorite Halloween activity is getting into costume. It's a time when you can try on a new persona for the day and be someone or something different.

My favorite costume would have to be either 2 years ago creating an exact replica of the Jack Sparrow costume. (this was before you could find cheap knock-offs in the stores!) My girlfriend was a costume designer and we purchased everything separate. I remember boiling the undershirt in tea leaves and water, then leaving it out on the beach buried in sand for a week to get the perfect "wear & tear" look.

My other fav costume was Darth Maul 3 years ago...4 hours in makeup...thats all I have to say about that.

Favorite candy...Snickers. Hands down. Ok, maybe Twix...wait, Kit Kats are good to...why do you have to ask such difficult questions?

Anyway, Halloween is a part of my life whether I like it or not. For those of you who are interested, my company is putting on a carving contest. The prize isn't huge but if your carving a pumpkin it wouldn't hurt to submit it...you can upload your pics online - its pretty easy. Just go to http://www.pumpkinchallenge.com

Ok, I've rambled long enough. Thanks for listening, it was very therapeutic. :)

Have a happy Halloween everyone and I hope to see your pumpkins this year!

~Chris

sweet, Halloween year 'round *stares dreamily*, ahh my kiddo would be jealous of such a lifestyle!!

anyway, welcome, welcome Chris :D And Happy Halloween!~

By the way, just last night we carved our very first pumpkins using stencils. I've always kept it old school with your standard knife/ jack o' lantern combo...but boy, have I been missing out!! I'm rushing out today to buy more pumpkins. My eight year old carved her first pumpkin by herself, an elaborate haunted horseman, and it came out pretty darn good. The birth of a new generation of carvers

ETA~ just noticed that we used Home Logic stencils.

I'm a craving fantasist, only with dreams and make-believe can I exist, when imagination behind my eyes glow, I dream within myself and I dont let it show, with a smile on my face I sit and wonder, with fantasies running wild like lightning and thunder, it's an amazing world of my own, where it's not required to be realistic or grown, the real world can not compare, to the wild wonderful world a fantasist dare.
If dreams come true they're no longer dreams.

Welcome LH74 & HomeLogic Chris.
We really must be a motley sight.
For Halloween's our true bliss.
But there's no need to run in fright.
The love here really does exist,
And we never howl and fight,
Of one thing, please remember this,
My bark is worse than my bite.

For those of you who wax "poetic"
There's a topic here that's not pathetic.
