Nice one Wolfie, I like it a lot. :D :D
Because once you cross that bridge, my friend, the ghost is through, his power ends.

Our pumpkins are flickering, the porch light, a beacon
Which little trick-or-treater will be first this season?
Stealing glances out the window, jittery with anticipation-
For our little costumed visitors advancing without hesitation

Wait! Here come two munchkins, running through the yard
A pirate dragging his little sister in a pink leotard
'Trick or treat!,' they smile and shout, as I open up the door
So cute I must fill their orange pumpkins with candy galore

Watching them skitter away, I spy three more
A fairy, witch, and Dracula himself headed for our door
More chocolates and suckers, all tossed in their sacks
Now off you go critters! Awaiting the next pack

Goodness gracious, here comes the sweetest one,
Toddling up our driveway accompanied by his mom
Sporting his Elmo duds and in the meekest little voice,
'trickortreat, ma'am?' So much candy for him, I've no choice!

Oh no, here comes a most mischievious looking crew,
A gang of teenagers much too old for this ritual I knew.
But in good spirits, I gave them one piece each and a wink,
Turning away satisfied, they were gone in a blink.

Behind them some siblings, too many to count
Here they all scramble, with a skip and a bounce-
On this night, we treat the most joyous kids ever seen,
Such happiness dispelling all wonder why we so love Halloween!!

Soooo Happy this thread is back ...Great poems guys...!!!!!

Trick or Treat
is what he said
even though he had
no head

Trick or Treat
he said once more
as he stood there
at my door

Trick or Treat
insisted he
the headless one
who could not see

Trick or Treat
a louder cry
No mouth to eat
how could he try

Trick or Treat
I heard the scream
thats when I woke
from my Halloween dream
Wild Winds thou shalt blow
carry away my saddened soul
tis the time of Judgement

Poem

Winged Demons from the deep
rouse me from my tussled sleep
show me visions that may seep
into my imagination

Halloween visage that lies within
bring forth decorations as I begin
sculpting frights that will win
as you scream from my creation

Working hard through the night
while visions of phantoms fill my sight
There is no use for you to fight
I can see your anticipation
Wild Winds thou shalt blow
carry away my saddened soul
tis the time of Judgement

The Cat

Prowling the twilight in silent stalk,
Eyes that glow as strong as a hawk;
As quick as lightning, she moves from sight,
Colored black as the darkest night;
Witch’s ally the legends teach,
A sacred bond they dare not breach;
Solitary hunters that own the night,
To superstitious men a source of fright;
But on Halloween she’s valued most,
The cat is Queen and deserves a toast.
Because once you cross that bridge, my friend, the ghost is through, his power ends.

Zombies and the walking dead,
Every moment filled with dread,
Vampires come to suck you dry,
Witches with their evil eye,
Creepy critters 'round each bend,
Will this terror never end?
The shrieking beasts,
The angry mob.....

But enough about my crappy job!!

Halloween is over the
ghosts have all gone
but the true
Halloween Lovers
will still carry on

We take down our decorations
though we hate to start
we will carry our memories
close to our heart

It was fun while it lasted
your pictures the best I have seen
I cant wait to see what you
come up with
Next Halloween
Wild Winds thou shalt blow
carry away my saddened soul
tis the time of Judgement

It's the day after Halloween,
The poetry's been really keen.
Let's start right away
on a poem each day
from now until NEXT Halloween!!!

Think we can do it???

There's something to watch out for,
in the days after Halloween.
You might start to feel somewhat pensive,
Or gloomy....know what I mean?

Feelin' sad or a little downhearted?
the solution: it's really 'da bomb'
