Funny you posted the punch bowl...That was the best thing I found. That ran $25, and the matching candle stick holders were $10 apiece. Between Target and Walgreens, I've made out like a bandit. Here's some of the things I've picked up recently.

I agree with you, spookshowbaby. It is sort of sad, because it seems that people want to jump right to Christmas, with out even a moment to enjoy Halloween or Thanksgiving. I sort of miss the days when they waited until after Thanksgiving to put the Christmas merchandise out. Way back in the fall of 83, I worked at Martiel Fields's Christmas Court. It was allready set up and doing gang-busters business by early October, which is when I started working there. I had to work 16 hours on Halloween that year, and by the time I got home, everyone was in bed and all the pumpkin candles were blown out for the night. That was the pits. I spent my entire Halloween, my favorite day of the year, selling Christmas tree ornmants and flocked artificial Christmas trees, and didn't even get to light one pumpkin.

That sucks. Don't they think about peoples enjoyment before they make them work all day?!
Halloween wraps fear in innocence,
As though it were a slightly sour sweet.
Let terror, then, be turned into a treat...

When I worked at Martial Fields, all they thought about was $$$$. I ended up having to cover for three people who didn't come in to work that particular day. I was a bit upset to say the least. But the good news is that I have not even been to a Martial Fields since I worked there back in the fall of 83, and I can't say that I miss them. I understand they were bought out by Macey's, too.
