Re: Creepmas
I see SpikeTV is jumping on the Creepmas bandwagon. Currently showing 'The Wolfman' (2010) followed by 'Halloween' (2007). Way to go Spike!

It was pretty entertaining though I don't remember learning in history class that Abe was so interesting in his younger years.

Me either though I think even the great Abraham Lincoln would be scared of these new age sparkly vampires. ::shudders::

Re: Creepmas
I just noticed a sign on my way to work this morning and there is what seems like a super cool haunted attraction. It is being held at an old mental hospital. They will have props from a bunch of horror movies and I think some sort of Christmas Nightmare. It sounds really cool unfortunetly their last show is this Saturday and I have plans.
However if you're going to be in the NJ area you should check it out.

Re: Creepmas
Glad to say I have no plans on being in Jersey. Ever.

One more day of Creepmas. Tonight I think I'll watch 'The Legend of Sleepy Hollow' (1980), the one with Jeff Goldblum. Tomorrow I cap off my new second favorite holiday with a screening of 'Nightmare Before Christmas'.
Happy 12-12-12 y'all!!

Don't judge us by the morons tv uses to represent my fine state Jersey Shore, Real Housewives or otherwise. I mean most Jersey Shore cast members aren't even from NJ. NJ is a great state with great places to live and contrary to popular belief doesn't smell(ok so the medowlands smell but it's a swamp. Swamps smell no matter where they are). Besides NJ doesn't have the highest population density for no reason(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_U. ... on_density)

If Joisey is so great then why does the Statue of Liberty face the other way?Demonic Duck wrote:NJ is a great state with great places to live

So she can greet people are their way in. Besides as much as NY wants to claim her the Statue of Liberty is on the NJ side of the border through the Hudson. Much like the NY Giants play in NJ. Further the only people who say Joisey are from southern Jersey don't clump my accent in with theirs.

DD, I'm a Southerner, born and bred, so I can relate to dealing with other people's prejudices and negative stereotypes about the place where you live. I can happily report that I have met the loveliest people from the state of New Jersey. I think if I lived in the Northeast, I would definitely prefer it to living in NYC, even though I have always enjoyed that city anytime I've visited. But NJ has more of a middle American feel, I think.

Re: Creepmas
Speaking of morons on TV, I think we Southerners have certainly been victimized by that genre. I don't get the channels (no cable), but I hear about shows like Honey Boo-boo (from Georgia, I believe), and Swamp People, set in Louisiana. I can just imagine the negative stereotypes those shows must perpetuate about us Southerners! But I sometimes think those people are just playing to the camera, because they want the $$ and, possibly, the fame. I bet they exaggerate every stereotypical aspect of their lives and personalities, just to give the producers what they want. I'm sure it's no different on Jersey Shore.
I decided long ago that "reality TV" is just as fictional as anything else on TV. The only thing that differentiates it is that they don't have a written script with lines to memorize. But they do have character "types" and crude plot lines that are set up by the producers. It is all lowest-common-denominator, like pro wrestling, because it is left to the imagination of the viewers to fill in the plot and conflict, with guidance from the producers of the show. Nothing about it is real.
