Cyclically, without reason, logic, or warning, I am beckoned to come forward, to rise, to enter this threshold, to PARTY, hastily, while the moon hangs high, before the same mysterious zephyr carries me back, to the edge of what is known, to populate the realm of the opaque.
When the time comes for me to vanish, and it will inevitably come without cause or warning, fear not, as I always unearth when expectations are the least anticipatory!
For now, Halloween.com, I have returned. It is a welcome sight to recognize many of you from past eras.
Kinda like the Great Pumpkin.

If I'm being 100% candid, graduate school, and work have kept me away, but that's not nearly as exciting to talk about!Demonic Duck wrote:Welcome back Big_Guh I don't know why you've been hiding but I'm sure we'll appreciate your return

I missed so many new people. But welcome Warden, Rocketcap and Big Guh. I hope you folks enjoy what stolen moments you can spend here. I know I surely do.
And Big Guh, shall we expect you when we see you?
And Big Guh, shall we expect you when we see you?
We're the farmer's scarecrows
We scare away the birds,
We keep the farmer's corn safe
Without any words.
But when Halloween comes
We jump out of the ground
And we scare the boys and girls
When they come walking 'round.
We scare away the birds,
We keep the farmer's corn safe
Without any words.
But when Halloween comes
We jump out of the ground
And we scare the boys and girls
When they come walking 'round.

ScarecrowJack, my friend, this is an instance when it is safe to believe what you see. Yes, you may expect me, as I intend to make this my home away from home...ScarecrowJack wrote:I missed so many new people. But welcome Warden, Rocketcap and Big Guh. Re: New Member Introduction
Hi! I'm Laura, 20, Romanian. I've been checking up Halloween.com since 4th grade, wh
en my english teacher introduced me to this holiday, as we had a costume party and everything in her english class on the 31st of October.
Glad I finnaly decided to sign up to the forums. Here we barely celebrate it, only in some clubs around the city because it's considered an "imported holiday". Trick or treating is out of the question, of course, which is really disappointing, considering I knew about it as a child and I was really looking forward to the candy. Nevertheless, that doesn't mean I don't dress up each year in my own home and carve pumpinks with my boyfriend & parents.
This is me in 2003, ready to celebrate Halloween in school.
This is me same year dressing up as Hermione Granger.
I suppose I'm gonna hang around this forum on the 31st, 'cause obviously nobody celebrates Halloween around here. Can't wait to get one year to the USA and celebrate it there!

Aww, adorable photo! I hope you can come to the US for Halloween at least once. Actually, a lot of celebrating goes on throughout the month of October--commercial haunted houses you can pay to tour, corn mazes you can pay to wander around in. There may or may not be many of us on line on October 31, at least, in the evening. Most of us will probably be celebrating that night.
You sort of have to know which neighborhoods to go to on Halloween, because some of them don't do much. However, there are places in every town that are almost like street carnivals, with all the kids TOTing, and the houses decorated. I am lucky to live near a street like that, and of course I also decorate my house and hand out candy.
You can always have a costume party yourself, carve pumpkins, tell ghost stories, and/or watch scary movies!

Draculaura it's good to hear you're celebrating even if the rest of Romania doesn't. Keep in good spirits and have your own party. You make a fine Hermione Granger. The first pic didn't attach properly or something.

Haha, why did you attach the last pic? That was from my 19th birthday when I cut my hair, and I edited that pic for a friend abroad who didn't get to come to the party. oh well, I suppose that's me everyone! Boo
