WOO HOO its great weather today!! that means blowing the leaves into a pile so i can stuff these pumpkin bags lol
Last night 'twas witching Hallowe'en
Dearest; an apple russet- brown
I pared, and thrice above my crown
Whirled the long skin; they watched in keen;
I flung it far; they laughed and cried me shame
Dearest, there lay the letter of your name!

Re: Well Guys, First Day Of Fall!
We had a great dinner for Mabon last night. Kids started making halloween deco for my office door. AND I saw pumpkins at our local grocery store. YAY! Now if the weather would come down a bit I would be super ecstatic.

Re: Well Guys, First Day Of Fall!
Yeah, we've had a ton of rain in Middle TN as well, and it is indeed warmer now than it was in late June/early July. (We had a tornado on July 4, craziest thing I've ever heard tell of.) But I am hoping the wet weather will make beautiful fall leaves. A dry summer means everything just turns brown and falls off. I noticed that, around here, the dogwoods started to pinken up in mid-August, and the maples were getting touches of color by early Sept. That's very early for us. Our peak is usually mid-October, and some years (like last year) the trees don't really turn until November. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a beautiful fall season.shanda wrote:Hot Hot Hot here in TN. I was so jazzed for the first day of Fall! Dang! I think the heat index was near 90!! Hot and steamy! We have had rain heavy for the last month, and today the sun came out and boiled everything in steam! I am SOOOOO ready for a cooler day. It was cooler in June than in Sept! Wore a hoodie on the 4th to watch fireworks.
I don't usually start decorating until October, and I am also influenced by the rain. I don't want my stuff getting drenched the very first day it's out! I've noticed some of my neighbors getting in the mood, though. There's a street just a couple of blocks from me and around the corner where many houses go all out for Halloween, and their displays are already coming together--
