You would think so, but I spent a lot of my summers as a kid at the library checking out spooky stories and dreaming about Fall.

Funny you mention autumn "waking" you up. I used to say that it felt like I was in hibernation the rest of the year until fall time would come around. But the strange thing is that I've never quite understood why it felt that way. I understand childhood nostalgia but shouldn't summertime have been the ultimate nostalgic time, what with being on vacation and all?
Hibernation is the perfect word for it. There's just something about that time of year. It's colder (I hate heat), it means the holidays are right around the corner. I loved school when I was young so I associate fall with back to school as well. Just so many good things.

A lot of people get depressed in the winter. I usually go through my little depressions in the summer.

(Hey guys, I'm back!!)

I'm sooo ready for Fall, I'm nursing a cold right now and it's not any fun having one in the summertime! Plus the fact I had 4 wisdom teeth cut out Friday... I'm ready for the leaves to change, maybe it will happen this year instead of turning brown and falling off!! I'm stuck at home all week so I'll be on here plenty!!

Voices whisper in the trees, "Tonight is Halloween!"

It's been cloudy and rainy for a few days straight now. The high today is a seasonably cool 81! It actually got down into the 60's last night. So finally, it's starting to feel a little bit more like fall. Well a Texas fall anyway.

Fall?! It's been winter in San Francisco all year! I think we've had about 14 days of sun since May. The strange thing is that we start to experience the heat from September to the beginning of October. Ugh so sick of this fog! What's making me realize that fall is coming is the fact that it gets dark around 8:30 now rather than 9:00.

California Ghoul!!

How could a haunter not like the SF fog?!?

On hot days down here on the peninsula I'll head up there just to get a break from the heat!

Or just a quick drive over one of the bridges with the sunroof and windows open...Brrrrr.

Well, when driving back up from Santa Clara I have to say it is nice to feel that cool fog after the blazing south bay heat, but geez I'd like to experience my summer too! It just gets depressing after awhile. Yesterday the fog was so thick in the city I thought it was raining! Fog can come out on Halloween night all it wants, but gosh darn it I need my summer!

I got rain on my way to Paly this morning (okay, heavy drizzle) and there are a few species of trees that are well on their way to fall color in Los Altos.

I was going to do this yesterday but couldn't 'stay' logged on for more than a minute all day, I kept getting bumped off!!

any-hoo, here are some shots from this morning of trees turning about a month earlier than normal.

Weird.

If I get new batteries I will take some pics of trees I saw.

I live in southern Indiana, and we get a real Fall.
There are already some leaves starting to turn colors.
By mid-September the atmosphere is perfect for the Halloween season.
