Here are the two covers that are in contention for the Souviner Soundtrack CD for my 9th Annual Rugerian Hell-O-Ween Film Festival.
The first is a witch cover:
The second is a gibbous and squamous Cthulhu:
This one I did because I found a really scary clown. It's not in contention (maybe for year 11) but I thought you might like to see it any way.
Here's a montage of past covers. It's a little small but you get the idea:

In my heart of hearts, I love the cthulu. But the witch is much sharper and more clear. The squamous, gibbeous elder god is magnificent, but he's a little blobby and hard to recognize in that portrayal. So the witch it is. The clown is freaking scary.
I saw a werewolf drinking a pina colada at Trader Vic's. His hair was perfect.

Despite the fact that I have dedicated my dark and dessicated soul to the glory of the Elder Gods, I have to say the witch looks much cooler. The horror of Cthulhu is best cultivated in the insanely morbid imagination of a fevered mind. Unless, of course, it is the photographic epic: Tales of the Plush Cthulhu!
