Just some decorations from last year

Post by HalloweenMelanie » Sun Apr 27, 2008 11:25 am

Hey everybody. I see that people post pictures of their displays here, so I'll post mine. I didn't actually do "a display"--I had isolated stuff here and there. I kept it more low-key because the kids are little and I didn't want to scare them, but as they get older I'll be pulling out the big guns. I'm a little embarrassed compared to everyone's great displays here but we had fun anyway!

So here are a bunch of pics from last year:

Great pics, Melanie! I especially love that raven in the first one. I LOVE ravens, I keep meaning to add them to my decor every year, but I run out of funds before I get a chance to shop for any!

Thanks, ghostess. I love the ravens too! I actually bought two more for this year, but they're feathered, not iron. I'll post pics on the decorations page later of the stuff I've bought so far.

Now if I had you to help me decorate...then I'd have it goin' on. :P Come on over! Oh heck! What's 1500 miles between friends!

Can you believe I only have ONE raven? It's one of those feathered ones that is motion activated to caw. I have a raven table runner that a good friend of mine bought for me last year as a hostess gift for the party. I loved it so much that I used it as a wall hanging instead so it wouldn't get dirty..lol

It'd be so cool if we all lived in the same neighborhood. :)

OMG, please, that neighborhood would not know what hit it. They'd think an orange and brown tornado had just arrived.

Sure would be fun, though.

My dad says he loves these decorations. I think the gravestone is a little corny, no offense.

As though it were a slightly sour sweet.
Let terror, then, be turned into a treat...

I currently live outside of Palo Alto, CA. at a friend's house in the mountains.
It's difficult to get there and the house is a 1/3 of a mile from the front gate so needless to say there are never any trick-or-treaters but that doesn't stop me from decorating...
It's on 25 acres so if I really went nuts I could reproduce a lif-sized (death-sized?) graveyard.

:D :D Thanks!

Like I've said, I live with my friends on their ranch and I pretty much get to do whatever I want to for every holiday.

There is a barn that has the beam sticking out of the roof (for hauling hay bales up) and I'm thinking of making a hang-man up there this year.

If I get the nerve to climb the ladder that is.
