Nutritionists frown on Halloween-theme cereals

Well, notritionists are known for things like that. But who listens to th em? I sure don't, and if I want to enjoy some Count Chocula while I'm watching my "Dark Shadows" video tapes, I'm going to do it. While I'm at it, I just might have a few taffy apples, pop corn balls and some ToT candy to boot.

As for my personal preference, I'm pretty much a fan of 1. Count Chocula and 2. Frankenberry. I didn't really care for the Boo Berry, and I never tried Fruit Brute or Yummy Mummy.

I think the only one I've ever eaten is Count Chocula. In fact, we killed off a box of that this week. I love chocolate, marshmallows & milk, but am not a huge fan of fruit-flavored cereals. I prefer to put fruit into my cereal, real fruit.

Last year our local Target had them but this year they don't. I walked into a CVS pharmacy after leaving Target, and there they were! Go Figure?

Murf, I don't even put milk on my cerial because I can't stand milk in the slightest. For me, cerial is 'finger food.' I do enjoy a banana or a strawberry with it once in a while, but I eat it on the side, not on the cerial.

I love Count Chocula, and those chocolate marshmellows really taste great for something that was mass produced. Some times I'll even get a large pop corn ball and mix equal parts of Count Chocula with Frankenberry and just grab a handful, and I get a little of both flavors.

My daughter won't pour milk onto her cereal, because she says it makes it too mushy. She drinks her milk in a glass on the side.

I just can't stand milk. It even makes me gag just to look at it for some reason. I'm not alergic, because I eat lots of food that milk was used in the cooking, and I love chese, ice cream and various other dary products, but I just can not abide a drink of milk.

One correction needed here, I meant to say "Popcorn bowel" in my last post, not "Popcorn ball." I will mix about half a box of the frankenberry with half a box of Counc Chocula, and then use a clean wooden spoon to "toss" it like a salad. Mekes for a great tv snack. Cerial is also a cheap way to a nice tv snack.

Uhhh... I think you better stick with popcorn ball.

I've actually found myself drinking a lot of milk now that I have room in the fridge for it. It pays to buy it by the gallon instead of half so I always try to finish it before it goes bad.

Just heard radio DJ guy say they are having to pull Frankenberry off the shelves because it's freaking parents out. It's apparently turning kids' pooh bright red. Didn't see anything on Google news, anybody else hear this?

No, I hadn't heard it, but any brightly-colored juice or food will do that. At least, they will if the dyes are unnaturally red or blue, etc. I saw some pretty interesting pooh when my kids were going through those years.
