Most years we see daffodils by the end of February.

They still ice fish on the lake up until May 1 and you can drive you car on the ice until April 1 usually.

I think I first heard of ice fishing on an episode of Frasier. I didn't know they did that in the lower 48. I thought it was something Eskimos did.

Re: "LITTLE HALLOWEEN" Reminder
Murf, I did enjoy the remake of "The Haunting," but I agree. It was nothing like the original, all though I think it was a good story. The remake was more depressing then it was scary, as I felt sorry for all those little victims of Hough Krane. Even when you saw those little "Ghosties" flying around, they seemed to be more cute and cuddly then a horifying apperition. In the original, that was more like a thrill ride. I liked them both, but for different reasons.
Chang, Spring is official in March, but it usualy doesn not really start to warm up intil early May. And I'll never forget April 1st of 2001. I rode my bike, which was a Honda Valkyrie at that time, to Joliet (about 40 miles aweay from my home give or take) to replace a head lamp. It was a very nice morning. As the day wore on, it got just a little cloudier and a little colder. I stopped for food, and it was even more clowdy and colder, but figured I was already out in the cold anyway so I might at well eat. Then I heppened to remember that I needed gas, so I stopped at a gas station. It was very cloudy and a small snow flury was starting to fall. About 10 miles away from home, I was riding a motorcycle in a full blown blizzard, and by the time I got home, I looked like a snowman on a motorcycle.
My neighbors thought I was crazy.
