Last night 'twas witching Hallowe'en
Dearest; an apple russet- brown
I pared, and thrice above my crown
Whirled the long skin; they watched in keen;
I flung it far; they laughed and cried me shame
Dearest, there lay the letter of your name!

I would say it's more Poe-influenced than a "rip-off." I'm pretty sure the story about the man who is immured is "A Cask of Amontillado." Haven't read it in years, but I believe it's set during the Carnival, everyone in masks, and one man lures another one into his wine cellar to see a cask of this rare wine. For some reason the guy who does the luring wants the other one dead, and he ends up walling him up. I don't think he hears voices, though.

Actually, I enjoyed your macabre little poem/story. It set a mood.

I enjoyed this too.
Poe-esque but not a rip.
Nice creepy atmosphere, Adrian.

Well, Adrian...you're in luck since The Cask of Amontillado is in the public domain - no lawyer needed :D
