Wooden boards under my feet creek like they should, like I expect them to
Like an old record player skipping beats, my fear makes my feet do too
An attic, the tallest part of even the shortest of houses, its dark, yes, dirt lays thick with the cob webs
Like the basement far below, I believe that someone else lives here, someone else who’s not alive at best
“who there is not alive?†I call from the door, reluctant to go in
“come now, speak, before I lose my nerve and turn and run without meeting you again,â€Â
After a moment of no words, maybe they hadn’t heard me, no, that’s not it, I know it so
Because when I spoke to, then from up under the door, I could’ve sworn I saw a faint glow
It grew as quickly as I called to it, like so, it went out just the same, softly and with out a sound
Why not speak to me I wondered, do you not want to be found
But this is my house and my attic I thought, I’ll just go right in
And when I opened the door and saw that no one was there, I called out once again
“come to me my friend,†I shouted, embarrassed in my own fear
I could feel my nerves shaking as it got so much colder from over there… to over here
I sat for a moment, thinking to myself, trying to get over a lump that had grown inside my throat
But it did not go away, it surely did not, especially when I saw the note
It read: Fret not my friend because you are not alone, you never were on any occasion
In a matter of fact I’m in your house right now, but for now, down stairs in your basement!

Inside my Attic
Last night 'twas witching Hallowe'en
Dearest; an apple russet- brown
I pared, and thrice above my crown
Whirled the long skin; they watched in keen;
I flung it far; they laughed and cried me shame
Dearest, there lay the letter of your name!
Dearest; an apple russet- brown
I pared, and thrice above my crown
Whirled the long skin; they watched in keen;
I flung it far; they laughed and cried me shame
Dearest, there lay the letter of your name!

Re: Inside my Attic
I really like your writings Adrian, you have a good imagination. I used to write short stories when I was younger, but they were only three pages at the most. I wish wasn't so lazy lol so I could re start my Maze story. Maybe I'll post it here!
La bruja, la bruja
se quedó encerrada
en una burbuja.
La bruja, la boba
con escoba y todo
con todo y escoba.
