Post by Hallow's Queen » Thu Apr 23, 2009 10:17 pm

hey, since our school portal thing sucks i need to find a sight that i can get on via school, i need to use this to save some school stuff, so unless you love the odyssey ( BECAUSE EVERYONE LOVES THIS BOOK,,, not!) just forget this post. I'll delete this when im done using it, please dont delete this topic thing. and it probably wont make sense btw.

Welcome to: Romantic Dreams: The getaway you could only imagine.
Racing throughout the Mediterranean Sea you will find a romantic cruise like no other. Romantic Dreams is the all time get away for you and that special someone. Throughout this 3 month trip you will start in Ithaca and visit 5 epic places including: Ogygia (island of Calypso), Island of the Lotus Eaters, Island of the Dead, then Island of the Sirens. You will experience adventure, see lovely scenery, and relax with your partner. The trip of a life time is waiting for you, so what are you waiting come sign up for a Romantic Dreams cruise today!
Island of the Lotus Eaters:
This enchanting island is filled with the delectable Lotus. The Lotus flower works as a kind of drug that make one’s thoughts seem like nothing. This flower fills the person’s soul with a sense of nirvana. The consumer will part from all of their cares, just leaving them in a kind of ecstasy. Couples entering this luxurious place will certainly enjoy their time together, and grow fat and happy.

Land of the dead:
Come visit your departed family members in this certainly enchanting place. You and your special someone will be able to communicate with you loved ones, and learn all the things you’ve ever wanted to know. But be warned, the shades will only communicate with you as long as you offer them blood.
This is the (insert number) stop on our Romantic Dreams cruise! You and your lovebird will certainly enjoy the ever night cast upon the landscape, because, “…their realm and city is shrouded in mist and cloud.” (Book 11{16-17}) As well as meeting long deceased heroes and villains of Greece. All that you need is a little bit of blood! (Romantic Dreams is not responsible for any deaths or injuries at the hands of the dead.)

Island of the Sirens:
The Siren’s intoxicating songs will surely be their perfect serenade for a lover’s vacation. Their voices will draw you in like the delicious scent of freshly baked chocolate chip cookies. They guarantee that, “ never has a sailor passed our shores in his black craft until he has heard the honeyed voices pouring from our lips.” (book 12 {202-203}) The sound of their melodies brings you in a trance, making you want to listen to their voices for ever. This will be our last destination. Though, you may never want to leave.
Island of Calypso:
Luxurious woods, wonderful herbs, and a vast amount of wildlife inhabit this place. “Soft meadows spreading around were starred with violets, lush with beds of parsley. Why even a deathless god who came upon that place would gaze in wonder, heart entranced with pleasure.” (80-83) The scenery defiantly makes the perfect backdrop for a kiss. Not only will the surroundings take your breath away, but also Calypso, the nymph with lovely braids. Her stunning looks are quite extraordinary, and she treats all of her guest fantastically, especially handsome ones. (Any godlike daring men visiting are advised not to stay on this island.)

Charybdis:
The second part of our cruise ensures adventure to a couple’s life. “The other crag is lower…Atop it a great fig-tree rises, shaggy with leaves, beneath it awesome Charybdis gulps the dark water down.” (book 12{112-115} ) The Charybdis’s awesome whirlpools will shack up the couple’s lives and it will make one feel like they are in a tragic love story. Don’t worry though, no one has fallen into the eternal pits of water, yet.

All you that doth my grave pass by,
As you are now so once was I,
As I am now so you must be,
Prepare for death & follow me.

Romeo and Juliet isn't so bad. I once wrote an alternative ending to it.
This probably seems crazy, crazy, a graveyard theory,
A ghost tried to approach me and got leery.
Ask him a question and he vanished in a second...

Oof; Shakespere is brutal on my modern ears.

I have the complete works in a beautiful leather-bound edition that is a perfect place for dust to collect.
All you that doth my grave pass by,
As you are now so once was I,
As I am now so you must be,
Prepare for death & follow me.

Aww c'mon. Gotta respect the classics. Although...knowing me I'd probably do the same thing. Unless they translated it into modern english.

'Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are dead' is a lot funnier than the book :D

Oh really? what was the alternate ending?
La bruja, la bruja
se quedó encerrada
en una burbuja.
La bruja, la boba
con escoba y todo
con todo y escoba.

I enjoyed most of the books we read in school with the exception of A Tale Of Two Cities. I despised that book. I did like the Odyssey though. But I'm a nerd for mythology.

We read Fahrenheit 451 in 10th grade. Still one of my faves.
