it depends on ambient temperature......the colder the temp the longer it will stay. I made mine out of a cheap $4 rubber tub from walmart, PVC tubing, and wire mesh......and I'm using the 1000 watt fogger I got at party city

.
You using regular ice or dry ice? We've always used dry ice, but then it's cheap and easy to get around here.

Oh yeah. Dry ice is much colder and will cause the fog to hug the ground better and longer. Our parties are outside in a warm climate so it's really hard to get the effect. Keep in mind that dry ice won't last all that long unless you buy a lot. If you're running low you can mix the dry ice and the water ice to keep the regular ice from melting as fast.

You can't get dry ice anywhere around here, I wish. That is very cool.
Thanks, Witchy

Try a grocery store? Sometimes meats and stuff will come packed in dry ice.

NeverMore, I was using frozen water bottles
Adrian, I would have a real hard time putting the ice under the (fixed) mesh
Dry ice works better but it usually cost more and doesnt last as long, you also have to be careful handeling it so you dont burn your hands or arms, but it is less messy.

I remember when I first started using dry ice... when I was a kid. I put a couple chunks in my sister's drink to make it look like it was bubbling and boiling. Well... her drink got low, she took a swig, and the ice went up against her lip and burned it pretty good. Not to mention that she was breathing in pure carbon dioxide every time she put her face up to the glass. Dont do that! And never handle the stuff with bare hands!
