I've still got some pumpkin in the freezer. It haunts me in my dreams every night, begging to be pie-ified.

I vote to carve it! Let it die a noble death and not just rot on the porch.

I think you should stab it, then leave it to rot....as a warning to other pumpkins.....

speaking of halloween tree... once i finish "HALLOWEEN: An American Holiday, An American Tradition" i'll be reading Ray Bradbury's "Halloween Tree" for the first time!!
Last night 'twas witching Hallowe'en
Dearest; an apple russet- brown
I pared, and thrice above my crown
Whirled the long skin; they watched in keen;
I flung it far; they laughed and cried me shame
Dearest, there lay the letter of your name!

Good choice. I like the movie but the story is much better.

As I am now so you must be,
Prepare for death & follow me.

they tend to go into MUCH greater detail... movies fall subject to time restraints because of the visual aspects of theatre... the imagination of the story (in one's opinion) can get kinda lost in the imagination of the director's and producer's invisioning...
like... in Stephen Kings "Pet Semetery" all except for the neighbor, Jud, looked nothing like i imagined em :)

.
Plus it's easier to read a book while you're in the john. Ever try setting a TV on your legs? Numbness sets in after ten minutes.
