I started my decorating two weekends ago. I've gotten a lot done, but still have more to go. Even when everything was at the stage it was when I first started, my friend and her daughter thought I was done. I told them that what they were seeing was just the tip of the iceberg. I love how my formal living room is looking so far this year. I like to go with a black/white theme for that room, but this year I decided to get out the all-white, pre-lit Christmas tree. I decorated it with black tinsel garland and a bunch of different black ornaments and skeletons. I made some cute spiders out of styrofoam balls that I painted black and used pipe cleaners for the legs. Then I bought two tabletop-sized black Christmas trees for the mantle and decorated them with frosted white Christmas lights. Next will be the black stockings that I'm going to make. I can't wait until it's all finished!
Didn't get anything out today. Man, where does the time go?
I need a few more hours in the day!
I worked on my tree thing that is going on my porch. I will post pix when I am finished. Have a few things out and many boxes pulled out but not empty.

The decorations go up tonight right after I get home from work. After they are up, I am going to screen "It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown," and on Friday I am going to carve the first jack o'lantern of the 2010 Halloween season.
I'm going to start to get everything out of the barn and the shed to put everything up in the house on the first day of October.... this Friday! I will not put outside until next week or so.
I brought up all the fencing and staged it at the side of the house, and all the u-posts and tombstones from the shed. Cut the grass in the front yard for the last time till November. They're calling for five inches of rain tomorrow, but Friday, The Big Day, looks like it'll be clear, so I'm getting psyched!!
I have everythign up except for my teathered bat and my strobe lights with thunder effects. I have to get batteries for them. The bat takes two BATteries (pun intended but it really does need then) and my strobe needs 4 AAs. I will be picking them up on my way home from work tonight, and the decorating will be finished tonight. TOMORROW, I am going to carve my first pumpkin of the Halloween season.
I went into Spirit Halloween the other day and it's funny, but I didnt see one thing I wanted. They are selling a full size Freddy Cruger animated prop that looks horrible, looks like it's from several years ago, also a MM that doesnt look anything like last years prop, looks like it's an old one too. I saw a full size Jason thats done really bad, I dunno if they were digging out old ones that didnt sell several years ago or what but last years models looked a lot better, I'm glad I got my Jason last year.
I have plenty of foggers and lights so no interest there, the large spiders i saw all looked like cartoon characters, just nothing of interest this year...

I havn't really started yet, but thats because theres not much to do. my indoor decorations stay up all year round and I havn't gotten any new ones to add yet. and my outdoor stuff I have to wait to put up,
but when I do decorate, i'm making a graveyard in the garden, pumpkins lining the stairs and I'm enclosing my balcony with chicken wire and cobwebs to make a tunnel of doom
very excited, I've already sketched plans and everything
I don't usually do anything at home. I head out to trick of treat with my friends or go to a party somewhere else. The times I do do stuff at my house, I just sit on my porch in a long black trench coat, a skull mask, and a sword on my lap. I try and pull the whole "Is that a mannequin?" trick.

All of my stuffs are in the living room, and some are still in the other room up the stairs. I guess I am going to put some of them out on the front porch next week, but some others I have to keep them in the house because they're pretty expensive so I won't put them out after two weeks. I have 3 fake jack o lanterns, 2 are sitting on the windows up the stairs and 1 is sitting on the window in the living room. I will get a huge pumpkin in about 3 weeks. I hope I will get two or more pumpkins.
