Do you have a Halloween Tree?

What do you like to decorate with? That bucket of blood?

I like the idea of a Halloween tree...but a pine tree says Christmas to me, even if it's black.
I think an old, charcoal black tree with rotton bark and moss creeping up the sides would be nice...but it might not be the greatest thing to bring in the house.
I've considered getting a Halloween tree someday and decorating it with Halloween ornaments, even if it is the black pine tree. But I would prefer something that looks like something out of a haunted woods. My stepdad has a miniature one that glows in the dark. I have no idea where I could get a bigger one...and even then I'd have to have the room for it.
This probably seems crazy, crazy, a graveyard theory,
A ghost tried to approach me and got leery.
Ask him a question and he vanished in a second...

me too mau... like a tree with just claw like limbs and moss!! that'd look really good
Last night 'twas witching Hallowe'en
Dearest; an apple russet- brown
I pared, and thrice above my crown
Whirled the long skin; they watched in keen;
I flung it far; they laughed and cried me shame
Dearest, there lay the letter of your name!

It may be possible to make one if you have the time and money to do it. Someone on here made a smaller Halloween tree.
Otherwise I'm not sure where you'd get the perfect tree for Halloween.
Maybe you could use some of that spider webbing to double as the moss for the tree. Especially the green kind that glows in the dark.

Our first tree was nothing more than nice looking branches from the neighbors cuttings. At first I just wedged the branches between heavy stones in the bottom of a ceramic pot. If using large branches and heavy ornaments it's better to cement the branches in.
The tree pictured earlier is a cool little black tree sold specifically as a Halloween tree. It was another of those after Halloween sales finds.I got it last year for five bucks! However you do it they look great, and are great fun.
Oh, your so cool, Brewster!
Hey, Butchy. They still got Oreo's next door?
Dracula's in the house!!! In the house?!
Welcome to the party, Honey!

nearly ALL of my decorations are home made :) its more fun for me, saves money, and they tend to be a little creepier :)

What I considered doing this year was actually putting up my 7-1/2-foot-talll artificial Christmas tree and decorating it for Halloween. That way, it would already be up for Christmas and all I'd have to do would be to change the lights and decorations. But I was trying not to spend as much money this year as I have during previous years and would need to buy more lights and decorations because the tree is so big. What I was going to was flock or cover the tree in black and/or orange webbing after the lights were strung to give it more of a spookier look. I was going to give it a crow theme, with a large crow on top in place of a star and smaller crows placed throughout. I like the idea that Corvus Kulde posted here about using a branch from a neighbor's tree, which is something I've considered. Spray-painting it black would look cool. Here's how I decorated my table-top-sized "Halloween" tree, which is actually a Christmas tree. I strung orange lights, but since I didn't want to spend any more money I had to get a little creative. So I took vintage-style Halloween stickers and stuck them onto cardstock. I cut them out and taped thin black ribbon to some and orange ribbon to the others. I had some really one-inch think orange spider-web ribbon (it's not webs painted on the ribbon, but cut out). Draped the tree with the ribbon and then hung the cut-outs. It gave the tree a very cute vintage look. I'm very happy with how it turned out. Another fun and cheap homemade Halloween tree decoration is spider webs made from fabric paint in the squeeze bottles with skinny tips. You just draw out spider webs with this paint onto wax paper (make sure it's this paper so you have a really easy time peeling off the webs when they're done). You can make them in all different colors, including glow-in-the dark. Then tie clear thread to them and hang them from a tree or anywhere else you like. I have a bunch of them I've used before, but for some reason I didn't feel like using them this year.

I'm new to this site -- this is my first time posting. Halloween has been my favorite holiday for over 20 years. Loved it as a kid, as all kids do, but then developed a true love for it when I was 25.

Yes, I do have a Halloween tree. It's not very big -- it's one of those 4-ft tall skinny pine trees (I think it's called an Adirondak pine). I keep this tree up all year long, on the floor on the left side of my fireplace, & change the decorations to suit the season or holiday. I also have a another small tabletop-sized Christmas tree sitting on my bar that I have decorated for Halloween, as well as two grapevine trees on top of my china hutch. Oh, I also have two tiny black Christmas trees sitting in another spot on my china hutch.
I knew I wasn't alone. The year 'round tree sounds great. I had considered leaving my Halloween tree up when we put up the Christmas tree this year, but I may have to steal your idea.
That would be cool, Corvus! It's very flattering to inspire someone to decorate the same way! I love your idea about using a branch as a tree, which is something I might plan on for next year and spray-paint it black.

Thank you! I'm always glad to spread the Halloween bug around. Painting the branches black is a great idea. It looks the part and most people never guess it's home-made. Then someone will inevitably say "Where did you get that?" and you can say "As a matter of fact..." I love your idea of using the stickers on a backing board. We had these little guys left from some previous Halloween. They were attached like a string of paper dolls. We cut them out and now they live on our Halloween Tree.

For me nothing shows more care and character than home spun decorations and costumes.
It does my heart good every time I turn over an item and I don't see "Made in China" plastered to it. "Made in America" would be nice, but "Made in adrians Living Room" sounds even better.
