When do you get into "Halloween mode"?

What do you like to decorate with? That bucket of blood?

When do you get into "Halloween mode"?

Post by Zuni » Mon Aug 24, 2009 1:21 am

Starting around July, I'm pretty much looking forward to October. By late August, around here in WI, "Halloween Express" stores start to pop up. Along with "Halloween Spirit". they're pretty much the same. "Walgreens" has Halloween stuff on their shelves earlier than anyone, here,Mid-August!
I love Fall!...cool weather, colorful leaves, football, and the spooky season! WOOHOO!

Last night 'twas witching Hallowe'en
Dearest; an apple russet- brown
I pared, and thrice above my crown
Whirled the long skin; they watched in keen;
I flung it far; they laughed and cried me shame
Dearest, there lay the letter of your name!

I'm already seeing Halloween Greeting Cards for sale in my local drug store, and the book store at the college where I work was putting out Halloween merchandise when I got here this morning.

When ever I play the "Westfall" area of World of Warcraft.

The pumpkins, the mechanical scarecrows, the creepy atmosphere and music... Amazing.

I've never played the game (being that i'm not really a gamer) but i've ALWAYS been into fantasy type stories (elves, witches, ect) and this game has always intrigued me. i could watch friends play it for ours.

You'd love it. Plains (Day)

There's some of the music from the zone. I don't know what it is about it... But every time I hear it, my thoughts turn to Halloween.

Again, I'm already in the Halloween mode. I am going to hunt for some scrap wood for my Halloween Bonfire tonight.

I prefer pallettes, old fencing materials (woden) or other scrap lumber.

pallettes do burn the best... and if you ever pull up old hard wood flooring.. it burns easy, hot, and bright as ****.. (my dad does flooring and brings me stuff like that for my fire pit all the time lol)

I start around July, and as soon as September 1st comes, I'm ready to decorate for fall. I like to take a walk around my neighborhood, as soon as one person decorates, I'm next! As far as Halloween decorating, I start on October 1st. I do have a black cat, he's my little Halloween kitty! He's my year-round decoration!!

I start thinking about it after the 4th of July...but when Sept. 1st comes around, it's a full blown thing. I went to a mall yesterday and the Hallmark store there had some cute things.
